This poll is a tough one. Charizard and Infernape are both top 50 for me.

But everyone hates on Blaziken, and hes in my top 50 too. So I voted for it.

Once again, Cinderace looks pretty sweet off first glance, but I havent played its game yet. I like the general looks of the new Pokmon in that Gen.

Of the post-Decline representatives, I regard Delphox as decent. Consensus has it as so much worse than Braixen? To my eyes, the gap is small enough that they are still comparable.

Blaziken takes the bronze, the one noteworthy member of its line - a pity nothing of it is burning like everything else through Incineroar. Charizard is great, overrated or not. And Typhlosion, I think, is my favorite final starter of them all.

This set is one of the best examples of the degradation of Pokemon's overall art style. Every subsequent Pokemon looks less like a fantastical living creature and more like a weird cartoon character. Early designs incorporate body proportions that make sense, and they look way better for it.

tl;dr Charizard rules, keep pushing him to the moon Game Freak. Typhlosion is great too.

But since it's going off personal opinion, uhhh... idk, Blaziken, I guess. Incineroar would be first if it weren't so bloody top-heavy.

Delphox is the best. Its based of Delphi oracles. How cool is that?

Typhlosion is great. Shame it is competing with Charizard.

The first 4 are all pretty good. I also like Emboar even though he's not very popular and he's probably the prime example of the Fire/Fighting oversaturation. Delphox and Incineroar are okay. But for some reason I really dislike Cinderace.

Anyway, Charizard is the easy pick for this one.

Smash made Incineroar way better than his design deserves. But Charizard is still the right choice.

I've felt this way about a lot of other days but I actually don't think it's particularly true of this group. Blaziken onward they're all just weird people, so the body proportions aren't as out of place, or at least it's not as apparent that they are. Also Typhlosion is kind of just a Dorito, but I think that's this specific art's fault and not an innate design issue.

I'm not particularly big on any of these but ended up voting Infernape.

I think. Although I like Blaziken a lot, but it's also awkward. I'm pretty sure about the top four, but the order is trickier and changes sometimes (do I actually like Infernape over both Charizard and Blaziken?). Incineroar is a gatekeeper, Cinderace is a creative concept but soccer is a bit far removed from my tastes, Emboar is a Fire/Fighting meme thing but something about Delphox just bores me too much.

Charizard and Blaziken rule the roost. Im not as crazy about most of these as most people. I have softened a lot on Incineroar due to Smash, as his magical ability to make wrestling ropes appear out of thin air amuses me.

Tough choice between Typhlosion and Charizard but ultimately I stuck with the Cyndaquil line all the way through. Cinderace is really cool and I really came to appreciate him in Unite, although his hands are weirdly tiny and it kind of bugs me since I noticed it. Incineroar is great too, and Infernape is surprisingly good compared to the first two forms. The bottom 3 I don't like much.

Also all my votes for the Cyndaquil line are on the condition that they have the fire. The bald trend they pushed for awhile was terrible

Things become popular because of how much they are pushed and prevalent. Charizard had a decent amount of popularity from the get go but it was really sold on being the CARD TO GET in the card game as well as its presence in the anime.

It really started to take hold later on when The Pokemon Company just started pushing Charizard more and more.

The best example of this is Eevee.

It was an okay Pokemon and people generally liked the Eeveelutions, but there was a point (and I pointed this out to a friend) where TPC started pushing Eevee A LOT, with the merch and whatnot and then suddenly after a year or two, whoa Lets Go Pokemon Eevee?!

All of a sudden Eevee is SUPER popular and the Eeveelutions are even getting a lot more attention as well.

It's not because they are some hidden amazing characters or designs or anything, it's because TPC decides what is popular and what people will like, nothing more.

It's basically this in a nutshell.

Companies push things with the highest chance to succeed. Charizard would be less popular without a company push, but it was chosen in the first place because of its intrinsic appeal. Same thing for Pikachu, Lucario, Greninja, Eevee, and many others

Obviously there is basis to that sure, but then you have Incineroar in Smash. Who was almost widely hated beforehand and now a lot of people like him because what he was given.

Companies:
"Hey you are going to like this character."

The People:
"Okay I like them now!"

I thought Eevee was super popular since day 1! I've always loved the line. It's a cute design, the evolution gimmick made it stand out, and everyone had their own fav Eeveelution they could argue over like people do with starters.

They've definitely pushed it a lot lately but I assumed that's at least in part a response to the fan love, not the sole instigator of it.

This is absolutely wrong.

Back in school around when Red/Blue came out, I did a class project where I polled my entire grade on favorite Pokemon, and Eevee got 3rd (behind Pikachu and Mewtwo). Eevee has always been popular.

I don't even care about Eevee, so I'm not saying this in support.

It is absolutely not wrong. Im not saying Eevee wasnt popular, Im saying its not even close to the scale that it is NOW, due to all the promotion it had gotten over the last 5 years.
