I ain't getting a lawyer. I don't care about anything anymore. Probably not even going to work anymore. I just have nothing in me left.

If you get a lawyer now, they'll do all the work and your life won't be ruined because you were sad for a few weeks. Just make the call, dude.

I have lost 55lbs over the past month and a half maybe 2 months. Barely eating. Can't leave bed. Didn't go to work today or yesterday. Just nothing left.

Tony, don't actually challenge me on this. If there's an issue with her being able to afford a lawyer, and it's known to the judge that he's paying for the lawyer, it shows he's being a lot more reasonable than her in the situation and he'll get a better deal in custody. Especially since she cannot be expected to reasonably defend herself here without a lawyer.

No hope. No path forward. Trying to negotiate one forward that doesn't ruin everything. I was very suicidal a couple weeks back. I am trying to get my head on straight. I was feeling okay until she dropped that bomb on Wednesday. But, she is willing to come to an agreement she says so trying to do that.

Corrik, i know you don't really give a shit about what anyone has to say, especially me, but i will absolutely hype the fuck out of you if you contact a lawyer. I haven't listened to the radio since last year but wdve used to have ads all the time for this kind of situation. Hell, put it on in the background to have something to listen to besides your own thoughts. Lots of smart folks are trying to help you here, man. I get that it sucks and you can't really bring yourself to care, but your kid will need you one day. Maybe not now, maybe not next week, but he will absolutely want to have his dad around at some point regardless of what his mom says.

Hi Corrik, I'm sorry to hear this is happening. Losing 55 pounds in 2 months is pretty extreme. I've skipped a lot of meals in my life and had trouble working up the motivation to get out of bed/work so I feel you.

As a lawyer (and to be clear, nothing I'm saying here should be seen as legal advice), I am not sure if you need a lawyer yet as long as she doesn't have one. Legal fees and litigation can be very expensive in terms of money, time, and emotions. The best way to resolve this is probably through a settlement between the two of you.

If she does hire a lawyer, I think it'd be a good idea for you to get one too. I don't think you should volunteer to pay for her lawyer. Definitely don't pay for her lawyer and not for one of your own.

I think you do need someone to take care of you during this process, someone who can look at things objectively or at least not through the lens of depression. What you see during depression is NOT reality. You are not in a position to make good decisions while depressed, and that's especially true for big decisions like this. That someone (or multiple people) can be a lawyer but I don't think it necessarily has to be.

Attorney time. She basically just wanted all the money she could get and a schedule to her preference. It was all a game. She was trying to figure out how to swingle keeping the car as well. She was never negotiating an agreement in good faith. I told her to get the fuck out. She is claiming I can't kick her out and she can stay as long as she wants until she is ready. I made it clear to get out and all the stuff I was gonna give her to help her was all staying now and off the table. Getting an attorney Monday to fight for me having 51/49 custody. I don't want child support off of her like she did off or me however. I no longer feel bad about things. I no longer am depressed. She showed her true colors and made me realize I was blind to her true self all along. Now I don't care about her anymore and I am going down fighting. Everything is being laid on the table. No pulling punches now to be nice.

When I pointed out it is double what she is getting from her other child's dad she reiterated it wasn't fair and wanted a number just about triple of the other support payment. When I shower her my bills and how I couldn't afford to stay living here with that amount, she said "sell your house and get a small apartment". Far cry from wanting me to stay there for my child's sake. That's when the light bulb went off. This was all about easing me into the game plan the whole time and trying to take advantage of my niceness in the process. I was giving her beds and dressers and desks and tv screens and etc. Not any more.

I'm very glad you're finally getting an attorney Corrik. Just ask them to be realistic with you, trust in them, and let them deal with the correspondence, since the more you say to her at this point, the worse off it is. My advice all still stands. I really wish you the best of luck here.
