I'm trying to play murloc Shaman but I don't really know a good list. Losing war leader and angler is a big deal since its hard for the deck to reload. On top of that the watch towers slow the deck down enough that it feels really bad

Murloc Shaman is looking like it might be tier 1 in wild, so you can probably find a wild list pretty easily.

Standard...IDK. Beating Rogue with murlocs sounds hard in standard.

And yeah, I actually bought the battle pass this time, cause I've been running libram paladin mostly and knew I'd probably want Samuro for it anyway, and the animations are cool. Also while I won't spend money on RNG gatcha, I don't mind spending money on hero portraits, and some of the portraits this time are cool.

(The bonus exp should add up to like....2000 more gold, though over the season, so that's nice too. Will probably use that on some wild sets where I'm still missing rares now that duplicate protection is a thing).

Man I'm so butthurt, had my best arena run in a while at 9 wins with DH but partway through the next game my internet died and I lost. Still quite a haul but I can't help but wonder if I could have hit 12. And yes, I had Mor'Shan, card definitely feels pretty strong especially coined out on turn 2.

I haven't played my current arena run yet, but I was offered Kazakus twice and had to turn both down because something like six of my first ten cards were 4-drops. Paladin Curse strikes again. I ended up taking N'zoth 2.0 and Wickerflame. I should've left N'zoth there with the Kazaki and taken the 1/6 frenzy legendary instead though, as I think the only minions in my deck that even have a type are Fishy Flyer and the 6/5/6 Dragon that has a 3/4 deathrattle. Both good to get back but I feel like N'zoth is just going to be a vanilla 10/5/7 for this run.

I don't think I've ever got 12 wins on NA.

Edit: I remembered wrong, I actually have six minions with types for N'Zoth to summon. In addition to the previous two I have Emerald Skytalon, Blowgill Sniper, Henchclan Hogsteed and Stormwatcher. Sniper is the only really bad one of the bunch, Stormwatcher is good there and the other two are small but at least have rush.

I don't think you need too many minions to come back with N'Zoth for it to be a great play in Arena, and having minions with rush come back is really nice.

Speaking of Arena, it's early but it looks like new Ysera is close to auto-win territory at the moment.

I'm looking into making decks and I'm quite tempted by No Minion Mage as I opened a golden Lunacy on the first day of the last expansion. Trying to make a couple decks when the meta settles a bit without spending too much dust, and the enticing thing is a couple streamers I've seen have said they actually prefer the deck without C'Thun so that saves a legendary craft. There are only 2 10 mana spells in the meta (Nagrand Slam and Survival of the Fittest) so hitting Lunacy early is powerful.

C'Thun Spell Mage is the only deck I've tried so far that I've actually had success with. I'm currently 12-1 with it and C'thun has not been a factor in any matches so far. The only loss was a hunter deck where I literally didn't draw any of my draw cards in 8 turns and I still had him at 7 HP when I lost. (Also he burst me from 22 with double 10/10 King Crush and a Rhino).

There's a surprising amount of burst in the deck so you have to know when to start shooting fireballs face.

Yeah, I played languagehacker's version of Spell Damage Mage last month and did well with it, so I'm familiar with sending spells face. I doubt I'll go 12-1 with it, but I'll probably throw 1600 dust at crafting the epics I'm missing and see what I can do with it.

Spell Mage is super busted atm. I would call it "deck of lunacy mage" more so than c'thun mage though. Since you don't care about c'thun as a win condition, you just want the extra spells in the deck to turn into cheap high cost spells.

The list I'm running doesn't use deck of lunacy actually but I think I'm going to swap it in. My list is running cram session which is often a dead card in my hand.

Between the Study and Font theres enough spell damage for Cram to work I think, especially with Incanters flow, like a 1 mana cycle is pretty OP as like most of hearthstones history has shown

Think instead you pick between Cthun or Lunacy

I don't know about SPELL Mage, but I've been enjoying Hero Power Mage quite a lot. I think there's still probably some optimization to be done with the deck though

Yeah I mean cram session is great in theory but I just haven't gotten any practical use out of it in 20 games. I think my list is running 2 of those so I could easily just swap 1 for lunacy and see how it goes.

Spell mage definitely seems stronger than hero power since hp seems insanely reliant on drawing wildfire

Would love to have some wildfires.

And...I'm trying out elemental shaman right now and it feels decent. Don't have the hex dude, though, cause it's epic.

Is Samuro that important to Spell Priest? It seems to be in a lot of the lists but I really don't want to spend 1,600 dust on it.

I have a control priest I'm running without it. I think the archetype isnt very good though

I don't expect it to be good, but Priest is my favorite class so I want to find something to play in it. Priest being bad isn't anything new, doubly so at the start of the year.

My opponent plays lunacy and gets deep freeze + arbor up. Then next turn plays survival of the fittest and the +1/3 buff. So he had two 10/14s and two 9/10s

Meanwhile I play lunacy the next game and 4 CARDS IN A ROW that are all about pulling minions from your deck or buffing minions in your deck.

I understand this card is a clown fiesta but when it sucks it REALLY sucks.

yeah spell mage is just silly. im sad its a good deck, its not supposed to be. but it just has way, way too much value and draw to be balanced. its pretty much everything wrong with modern hearthstone, infinite resources and RNG that is impossible to meaningfully play around.

yeah my opponents play Lunacy on 2, and then topdeck Skull of Guldan on 3 and then play 3 5-6 mana cards for 0 mana.

That seems to be about the average result against me.

Fortunately if I hit them with my hammer enough sometimes it doesn't matter.

There's an achievement to destroy your opponent with Mankrik, Consumed By Hatred. What the game doesn't tell you is that you have to kill them with the initial 3 damage burst when it comes out of your deck. Would've been nice to know that in my last game so I didn't unintentionally BM my opponent by chipping them down from 8 over three turns with the 3/10 instead of just killing them with Tickatus.

Also, running the 3/3 lifesteal that wants less than ten cards in your deck in the same deck as C'Thun and Rustwix probably isn't the best idea, but by golly I'm doing it.

Seems like the kind of achievement you should just let happen by incidental gameplay, rather than forcing the issue. Too many new achievements to go specifically hunting them, IMO. Seems like I sneeze and get an achievement right now.

Outrider's Axe is so disgusting that I started keeping it in the mulligan even without any curve. 1/3 of my deck being rush cards helped with that of course.

So while I've had wretched luck getting legendaries, I've had what seems like weirdly good luck getting golden cards. Did they perhaps change the odds of getting those?

I want the Alex+Scuttlebutt or whatever his name is otk combo to work so bad, but like usual I'm epics away playing the deck and I can't justify crafting the Potion Of Illusions, and possibly Cloak of Shadows, that the deck needs just to lose 80% of the games I play with it.

Gave token druid a whirl, actually re-crafting Fungal Fortunes (I've wanted it for a few other decks, so eh, probably time to give in and accept the re-craft). In part I wanted to see how Pride's Fury as a card felt.

Pride's Fury is fine I guess. But wow the deck felt so weak.

Went up against a rush warrior, who kept my board small with rush minions, a lunacy mage who soul mirrored me into Nagrand Slam, a control warlock who used control warlock board clears and then double Tickatus'd putting me in fatigue on turn 10, finally getting a win against some kind of C'Thun control warrior who used a Brawl early, but turbo lowrolled the brawl (my 5/6 lived, my 1/1s and 2/2s died), into using 6/6 taunt; Pride's Fury let me buff my 5/6 into 6/9 (as well as the rest of my board) and trade a 6/9 into his 6/6. Next turn arbor Up plus Power of the Wild let me get to exactly 5 attack to clear his 2/5 taunt for lethal. Every bit of RNG went my way, and trade numbers lined up exactly. Probably not actually a good matchup.

Deck seems....bad. Like...maybe I was getting bad matchups but I'm not even sure what good matchups would look like for the deck. Pretty sure Rogue will do fine against it, pretty sure murloc shaman will completely stomp it with the murloc magic carpet and and doomsayer elmo murloc. Can't imagine secret paladin would struggle with this deck.

Up to diamond 3 with doomhammer shaman. Currently on an 8 game win streak.

It performs well against mage and even if they get off an early Deck of Lunacy it's about 50/50 whether they will even draw into random spells that will mitigate the clock I can put them on. Honestly I think if they knew the matchup better they would not play Lunacy at all against me and count on secret/spell generation to provide them with an extra 8-16 health as well as a counterspell. Some lists even run 1 copy of barrier.

Honestly my worst matchup that I'm running into regularly has been secret paladin. I can sometimes get there if I'm presented with good targets for torrent, but often being restricted to 2 cards per turn hurts a lot. They always seem to have the secret weapon and the 'if you have a secret draw a minion' minion so they are really consistent.

I could be wrong but feel like the mage deck should be favored against paladin though so I'm surprised to have been seeing so many paladin.

But paladin is probably incredibly favored vs the rogue, warrior and DH decks so maybe they are fine to take the L against mage. :shrug:
