Do you hide your mistake so you dont get into trouble or own up knowing you would get into trouble?

I distribute the morning post. That morning, I put two envelopes to one side to give to a specific person but they ended up being left until the afternoon. My mistake, I thought I had give them out but did not double check.
If i hid it, I could have claimed they only arrived in the next days post and not got in trouble for it --- "Well, it's not a bad game. It's made by Capcom, so how could it?" ~ AVGN ... Copied to Clipboard!

Own up to it, because my company is super awesome and so are my supervisors, it would likely amount to "can you fix it right now?" If yes, do so, if no they will take care of it.
