Snake actually won among registered voters. So no asterisk this time. This was 1v1, 24 hours, no joke characters, no double votes mattering, and yet the Noble Niner lost to an outsider.

It was actually about 600 votes less then the match the day before. So no indication of any kind of bandwagon rallies either.

In 2005 there was a huge Nintendo boost.

The one who benefitted the most from it was Mario, who went from losing to Crono to unquestionably being the #4 character in the contest.

Look at how every piece of Nintendo has looked this year.

It's another huge Nintendo boost, and guess who is benefiting the most from it again?
