let me start by saying I should have been home from work 2 hours and 45 fucking minutes ago.

Fuck everyone who doesn't want to show up for their job.
Fuck them doubly when they do it on a friday night.
Fuck them triply when it's a payday so we're busy than a normal friday.
And quadruply so when they just started doing uber eats at our store yesterday so we have an iPad yelling EXTRA orders to us at the most inopportune times including 10 minutes after we closed because uber eats doesn't seem to know when we close.

And this was only the 2nd worst time i've been screwed this week.

If I were general manager (instead of assistant to the general manager) we would (A) have more fucking employees including part time employees so there would ACTUALLY be someone available when someone can't make it and (B) the repeat offenders would be fucking gone. There would be so much turnover, but in the end we would end up with a crew that actually comes to fucking work and FD wouldn't have to do the work of 3 and 4 people and skip all his breaks until closing and then still need to take those breaks because laws and be impossibly far behind on closing the fucking restaurant.

I came within inches of a much better job in december and I'm closing in on an IRS desk job now so hopefully my weeks here are numbered, but I could not be more fucking done with food service.

If there is a flavor split of some kind where all the members of mafia have something in common then it can be important to pretend to be something that doesn't fit mafia according to the split. But if there was a split it would either have to be very obvious based on the source flavor or we wouldn't know about it until a couple of scum have flipped. It's pointless conjecture to discuss flavor splits on day 1 and the scum would be the most likely to know what the split would be based on their own flavors so they would be the best prepared to understand it.

Chris thought to justify it with the machado trade, but he isn't wrong in that there is something different about red. There is a sort of...playfulness (if that's the right word?) to red this game that I do no typically associate with him. All of his posts in this exchange (as well as others from other exchanges) embody that sort of coyness.

So that's 200 posts down, just 200 and change to go. Master of Puppets finished strong as always and I'm still in the first half of Songs for the Deaf. Fake radio interludes are awesome and more albums should have them. Probably going to queue up something lighter after this though, perhaps Absolution or something by Imagine Dragons.

Red has been altogether much more interactive than I would expect him to be. Perhaps he was telling the truth and this can actually just be attributed to the All Star Break followed by a road trip for the Dodgers, but it's the playfulness that is striking me more than the "red has more time on his hands so he is posting more". Is this scum red trying to be friendly? To rub people the right way as happy go lucky friendly neighborhood redien? Or maybe this is town red trying to avoid a bullet night 1. Last game you played a very unorthodox day 1, Chris, and it worked out. It kept you alive through the first couple nights and then scum had a list of "must shoot targets" to prioritize over your vanilla ass. Maybe this is town red trying to be the most un-red imaginable on day 1 trying to get scum to scratch their heads and say "I dunno what he's doing, but he's never done this before so maybe we just let it ride for now and try to lynch him".

I could honestly see it being either of those directions, but, gun to my head I would say I'm leaning the scum explanation rather than the town. With 200 posts remaining I reserve the right to change my mind.

I have to say I really love FD's effort in the game of mafia the last few times I have played with him. I have no idea if he does this as scum (2/2 town so far with me seeing it) but every time I play with FD he is giving good effort. I appreciate that.

Yeah my weird day 1 was super useful, I am happy with that game from my viewpoint (despite the L, I didn't have much bitterness because there were several factors on both sides and my PoE was off by 1 person, which is reasonably okay given everything but sadly if I did that this game they would probably just murder me night 1 anyway so!) but I had a different thought on red. I am not explaining this but I didn't consider your thought so thanks for that.

I have decided that plum has done nothing this game of note. I feel for my buddy if things are bad outside the gaming forum, however, this mafia and I expect to play the dastardly game of mafia within it. I may strongly feel bad for a player, but I cannot give said player, no matter how magnificent or not, a free pass due to such circumstances.

For if one signs up for a mafia game, they are to play the game of mafia.

Thus, what has Masterplum done this game? I believe he has only, in his very sparse interaction, just basically threw down a guideline for day 1 in which he intends to sheep a player and lynch them no matter what later on if they continue to live, in a game where Red and Blade regularly draw early kills over Chris.

He also was kind enough, or unfortunate enough, to provide us with outside the game information which could be used to explain any erratic play possibly displayed and which would provide a perfect guise for lack of attachment and/or inactivity from the game.

Also, a subconscious pushing of guilt has been levied by the player onto those who may wish to lynch him because, I mean, how could you dare vote for someone in such an unfortunate situation.

I am aware my first vote of him was prior to this posting. I will admit my first vote of him was because of the usage of "master scum" repeatedly, and I, full of drunken merriment, though master scum really makes me think of master plum, as scum.

However, his entrance into the game and content have been found lacking. Thus, I assert he should be our lynch if he does not wish to provide more content and/or analysis which would be typically expected of him in this game of mafia.

Plum, to my bestest recollection, has always been one who tends to be less active as scum. I find his play through these mighty 24 hours to be quite alarming.

Odd of you to key in on Plum in this way. At the time of this post he had at least done more than me. I had yet to check into this topic despite having confirmed in the sign up topic and that isn't worth a mention, but plums inactivity goes too far?

Yes, people need to be pressured if they are going to be inactive, but shouldn't you spread that pressure evenly and at least give mention to the others who had been arguably less active?

It also bears mentioning that different people are going to have different schedules. My schedule is currently beyond awful, for example, but I'll make the best of it. And this is why you should not have such a hard on for ending days early. It isn't a problem yet this game, but it's one you've exuded in both of the previous two games so I'd be shocked if you didn't take your "i'm bored let's just end the day already" approach again moving forward. It's crappy anti town play that doesn't give everyone the chance to be available and I want to nip that crap in the bud. Pay attention to those lurking, but also give people the opportunity to make their time to play.

Okay so it's been a refreshingly tame day 1. Some have said less than I'd like, but this is a good starting point and there is a veritable trove of interactions to examine in new light once some corpses start getting identified.

And maybe it's just because is he oh so bad at this game, but after reading all that I can't help but feel like zam is scum. I've covered it in depths already, but the initial vote, the scared backpedal, the justification of the vote, the new justification of the vote, the reaction to Zach saying literally the same thing he said earlier. None of it sits right.

I don't really like Tony stretching on the sultan thing. I mean Zam said something about voting Corrik every game and it was a topic.of conversation for awhile, so it's no suprise Sultan made the deduction they've played together often. I feel like that was a really big reach. Don't really have a problem with the ColZach thing though.

Red is a little different than unusual but doesn't seem malicious. Town can try new things too, so I don't think him being unusual is a big deal right now

First of all if he's on 'the other side' getting something useful out of people how does that benefot your side?
