This is I think the 3rd big patch. I'm not saying the game is going to be everything you want, but I feel it has improved greatly.

Disclaimer - I liked the original base game, so take that into consideration before trusting my opinion.

i got sick of the grind when it first came out and sold it back before its value tanked

everything looks much improved now, and for the current asking price of $23, i had no problem jumping on the pc version this time around.

So what actually is No Man's Sky these days? I thought it was being billed as a flight sim in the vein of Elite or Freespace back in the day, but then it turned out to be all about exploring planets... and then it turned out not to be anything because there was hardly any content.

Now that there apparently is content, is any of it space dogfights, or was it never going to be the game I thought it might?

Getting that trophy was a pain, though that was before the 1.2 patch. Hopefully they've improved on it.

Most interesting, though, is the multiplayer, dubbed “Joint Exploration”. Before you get your hopes up for high fives or co-op missions, this is very much a baby step. You’ll be able to see other up to 16 players who are near you, but they’ll only be represented as glowing orbs, not as ships or pilots. And you can’t do much with them in-game, though you can communicate with them over voice chat, hence the “joint exploration” label, since that’ll at least be useful for flying around a planet taking in the sights.
