The most important part of MCH, of course, is going into BA or Delubrum with 16 stacks of Focus and unleashing... the Giga-Drill.

I know in Delubrum you would use Lost Slash, but that doesn't have the same ring to it.

MCH's rotation becomes constant way before 80! It happens at 70 or mid 60s or something? In fact it gets easier at 80 because by then you get three charges of your ogcd spamming abilities. Certainly one of the easiest dps jobs.

Second time through the tower. Red Girl is really the only somewhat difficult fight in there. As cool as the last one is, the mechanics are all very simple.

Hansel and Gretel can be rough if your healers are lazy and don't realize it's always two raidwides in a row.

There's a small mahjong scene on Primal. It's a blast when people are queueing.

We've even had a small unspoken anime storyline going with an unusually lucky prodigy climbing the rankings, a frustrated rival who can never get that elusive 2k rating, recurring characters (one of whom changes her outfit between every game), and some wacky-ass yakuman.

I personally loved Tower's gameplay, and the music being hype was a given, but while I certainly appreciated the bamboozle that this was a Drakengard story the whole time, not an Automata one, it does not salvage the rest of story being a massive "whatever."

I also needed a pun for the title and didn't want to pay Jakyl to make one.

Personally, I think that plugging your songs in any capacity during nominations is something to be avoided. There was plenty of time to do that before the contest started, but at this point, I believe every song should have equal right to gaining attention without their nominator having to explicitly fight for them.

I'm also taking a pretty strong stance on what "plugging" means, though. If you're just mentioning them in passing without going out of your way to (essentially) rally for them, that isn't really the same thing. If, in the greater context of a post, you mention how to were really hoping that {Reach For The Moon} would do well this year, that isn't plugging.

Nidhogg is still my favorite and is one of my top 5 boss battles of all time. Everything was just... perfect the first time you face him.

Nowadays, I like Susano and Tsukuyomi a ton but I get irritated that people still don't know how to to basic stuff during them. Whenever I get Tsuku I just put a triangle over my head and say "follow the triangle if you want to live."

I got six comms that way once.

Regarding Nier: Turns out the reason the Nier story is skimpy is because it was never a Nier story; it was a Drakengard story pretending to be a Nier story.

I still don't think it was that good, but god damn if that final boss didn't do things for me.

Regarding Weapons: I cried. I cried the least manly of tears. God... it was predictable the entire way through, but I still loved every second of it.

I dipped out of VGMC for a while because of it! Here's hoping there's a place for me again.

This is largely because I don't know how to talk the nuts and bolts of music the way most people passionate in this area do, and my brainlet takes boil down to "does this sound good to me" without understanding zany time / key signatures or whatever else.

And also because Gust is overrated.

It's got enough Lore that I think it's worth attempting and seeing if you're into it.

The world-building is cool and worthwhile, but god the writing is miserable.

That said, the gameplay is pretty fun and the organized content quite good -- I think Delubrum is the best 24-man content they've ever made -- so you should do it.
