I just can't deal with this kind of grinding and gameplay. It doesn't engage me at all. I picked Gladiator.
Maybe I just already had my fill of this kind of game with WoW a decade ago.

You absolutely shouldn't grind at all. It will just make things worse. Only do the main quest and relevant job quests. And even with those you want at least two jobs you are switching between to share experience. The reason for this is that dungeons are level synced and you will be over leveled just from doing the main quests. This quickly translates to wasted experience. Having two jobs fixes it but depending on how much optional stuff you want to do you will quickly need three jobs at least to not end up wasting experience.

Its a collectors thing. The us version is worth more.

Same reason a CIB copy of chrono trigger is 30 bucks from Japan, but a us copy is several hundred

But that Japanese Chrono Trigger is only playable in Japanese without modifying the cartridge or using a device that lets you use patches. The Japanese copy of Silent Hill contains the entire English text. You just choose English in the options.

You can still get a copy with case and instructions in good condition in Japan for the equivalent of $20, and it has English text options (voices are only English in Japan too). So really no reason to pay that price.

No, enemies get a damage multiplier, which is fine, and also a bigger chance of enemy advantage which can cause you to get wiped by bad luck. It's that latter one that makes it actually scary on the highest difficulty.

Religion just helped make morality more widespread. We'd probably a lot more people killing each other without it Shinto, Christianity, Buddhism, etc. enforcing it.

Shinto doesn't really have anything to say about morality. That's why it was so easy for Buddhism to thrive alongside it, Buddhism is more concerned with morality than metaphysics/spirits. Though modern Japan is one of the least religious countries in the world and also one of the safest with the least violent crime. Religion doesn't seem to be doing much for morality.

I'd go with Gloomhaven, personally. Been eyeing it for awhile. Too many games not enough time. I pretty much only solo, too, so Mage Knight has been tempting as well.

Gloomhaven is tricky. Is it a dungeon crawler or a Euro? It's definitely a good game, but it's more like you find optimized solutions to puzzles. Tricky (also there is not a pile of minis like most dungeon crawlers have).

If you love solo board gaming Mage Knight is the best experience you can have (but probably also not technically a dungeon crawler).

These are definitely not Games Workshop quality and the minis are largely identical pose, whereas Warhammer largely uses unique poses (which means more sculpts, the only actual cost when it comes to HIPS).

With all the miniatures it brings, it seems like a very decent price

It's really not though. Mainly indentical pose sculpts (HIPS is incredibly cheap, only the sculpts cost money), and far less than similar products from other companies.

So the modern Dungeon Crawler board game can said to have started with Dungeon! by TSR which was codeveloped with Dungeons and Dragons. But it's not a very good game and the genre didn't really resemble what is now until Warhammer Quest. Hero Quest was basically a licensed version of Warhammer Quest (Games Workshop even helped design parts of it).

Modern Dungeon Crawlers have massively proliferated due to Kickstarter and they tend to be in the form of release a metric shit ton of stuff with almost no testing then abandon it after release and make another one. I think the overall best one is Shadows of Brimstone because the company has supported it for about a decade and shows no sign of stopping which puts it above 95% of the other games. That said Tainted Grail appears to be well supported (even if not a true dungeon crawler) and is well regarded as well.

It really sucks though that even a dedicated minis company held in high regard, Corvus Belli (makers of Infinity), jumped on the Kickstarter one and done then abandon it train. They're even doing another Kickstarter right now for a Fantasy dungeon crawler. Can't wait for them to abandon that too.

How does it compare to other games around the same price tho? Is it an average amount of content for the asking price? That's how I usually justify worth. If it has a fraction of the material other games have, Id get it. If it's around the same and just doesn't have Elden Rings massive amount of content packed in, I gotta side with them. Im 155 hours in and haven't beat it lol.

I feel like it's more expensive. Tainted Grail just finished a Kickstarter where you got over twice as much content (minis, game content, etc.) for less than that. I definitely think this isn't a good deal. Even the much reviled CMON games tends to have a better ratio of content per dollar (their issue is they make the majority or at least a significant chunk of content Kickstarter exclusive, such as they did for Bloodborne).

In general don't kickstart this shit. These companies are abusing the system and FOMO. They're massive and intend to make the game anyway, they don't actual need funding. Shit look at the sculpts. They're already made and the factory in China is probably cranking them out as we speak.

If that's what he means, it's just poorly worded and probably not malicious. I take back 1/4th of my post.

It's actually a lot less than 1/4 of the game's content from a boss perspective. It's kind of hard to judge. It has more than that for player characters (assuming just starting classes), less than that for areas and bosses, and maybe about that for basic enemies. It's definitely missing a ton of stuff from the game. I think Bloodborne the board game managed to get everything except the DLC if you could get all the expansions (good luck getting that for less than $1000 on eBay though).

I think he means it's 1/4 of the actual content from Elden Ring. With these types of games they usually do more expansions later (sometimes called seasons) with new Kickstarters that cost even more money. These Dungeon Crawler board games often cost $1000 to actually get everything (and also you have to store them somewhere somehow).

I used many different sites and always quit after a week and went back to meeting people in real life because it was a lot like you are describing here. It just wasn't worth it. You could meet better looking people in real life with less effort, it didn't make sense to use a site. Then when I moved to Japan I couldn't meet anyone in person. I hadn't gone on a date in months. So I try an online dating site and all of a sudden everything is backwards. I am getting blasted with messages. At first I reply to all of them and I even went as far as dating multiple women at once, but it was unsustainable. Eventually I met my now wife, but I can't believe how absolutely awful the online dating experience was in America and how much better it was in Japan.

EDIT: And I lift weights and am in good shape, but it didn't matter for shit in the US. I could meet women offline, but online was useless.
