This is big news. In plain English, it means that nearly half of the initial infections in this hospital appear to have been spread within the hospital itself. This is called nosocomial transmission. (Doctors use big words to hide bad things: Nosocomial means caught it in the hospital.) What's more, most spread doesn't appear to have been the result of a so-called "super-spreader event," in which a single patient transmits infection to many other people. In these events, a procedure such as bronchoscopy -- where a doctor inserts a tube into the patient's lungs -- can result in many infections. This would be a concern, but not nearly as much as what appears to have happened: Many health care workers and many patients got infected in many parts of the hospital. What's more, since there's a broad spectrum of infection and only patients who were sick were tested, it's quite likely that there was even more transmission in the hospital. The virus appears to be quite infectious, health care workers are at especially high risk, and we urgently need more information about just how infectious the virus is. The virus might well be impossible to contain -- just as the common cold and influenza can't be stopped, but the health and societal impacts can be blunted. China's extraordinary efforts to stop the spread of the virus, even if unsuccessful, may slow its spread and improve China and the world's ability to limit the harm the virus causes. Not saying they aren't lying (lying or testing limitations due to shortage or staff and test kits, there are definitely more infected), but it also isn't the bodies in the street doomsday scenario people seen to want it to be. I think the biggest evidence it is and is the efforts they are going to to contain it, since it's massively harming their economy in the short term, and will possibly significantly harm it long-term as well. So you do not get killed by the virus directly, you die from other more conventional diseases. This is why it's so important to get a flu shot. --- RDR2 is the best game I've ever played. Most people don't practice basic hygiene like proper hand washing. Do you have a small supply of clean drinking water? Non-perishable foods? Do you have an emergency safety plan in place with your loved ones? Do you have a "go bag" prepared for each family member, in the event you would need to rapidly leave your home? Do you have a firearm and enough ammo to fend off a small group of attackers or wild animals? These are basic steps anyone can take to be prepared in the face of any emergency. --- RDR2 is the best game I've ever played. Prove me wrong.

Kind of like before a hurricane except it's the whole country. Pharmacies are being overwhelmed as well.
