What. The logs were not that big and stormtroopers are supposedly wearing heavy duty PLASTOID armor. A trooper could take some of those logs and get up imhhho.

Body armor doesn't protect you from being crushed by a heavy object that is larger than you. It doesn't work that way.

I don't think it's the fact that people think the movies are "outright bad". It's more that they do not do a justice to the series.

They didn't even need to be SUPER AMAZING to 'do justice' to the previous films.

I do not think I would not have minded a "mediocre movie" episode 1 as long as I felt it did justice to Star Wars as we knew it.

This is pretty much true.

That being said, the prequels unfortunately really are "outright bad".

So I am now officially a delegate to my county's Republican party convention in Washington state. I attended the precinct caucus today just intending to vote and wound up accidentally getting elected as a delegate. <_< Support in my precinct is closely divided between Ron Paul and Santorum, with Gingrich and Romney trailing far behind. I guess Smartmuffin is right about Romney after all! Amusingly, the argument Romney supporters gave for him was literally, "He is the most electable candidate, and I want a Republican, any Republican, in office."

The Work and the Glory books were quite good. They are a 7 book historical ficton series which was quite well written.

Along these lines...have you read the Alvin Maker or Homecoming series by Orson Scot Card? Did you like them?

Z training is easily the most "powerful" of these from a pure combat perspective.

The TARDIS has the potential to be most powerful overall but also has the most potential to backfire horribly or, like Crimson said, you could just waste you life away.

The GL ring is probably the most useful if you just want to keep your power a secret and try to live a mostly normal life.

I would go GL ring. Thinking about it more though, it's almost a complete tossup between that and Hogwarts magic. I'd have to read up more on GL stuff to be able to say for sure...

Specifically they need to iron out the game's performance issues. I played on my powerful desktop PC and a capable gaming laptop, both of which struggled with the game on anything other than the lowest graphics settings. Cranking up the quality resulted in horrid frame rates, and massive world versus world battles between dozens of characters caused both systems to slow to a crawl. ArenaNet just needs to fine tune the game's engine, finding the right balance between beauty and playability.

This worries me a bit.

By the way SMuffin there's a benefit to you and society in general in preventing unwanted pregnancies; those tend to cost society a lot more than a little birth control.

No. If a Muslim couple went up to the church and asked them to perform a Muslim ceremony(which they wouldn't normally be offering) they could refuse. If they asked for a Christian ceremony, they could not. This would be the same for Gay couples. The same way it is across the entire country.

But then again, it wouldn't even be a big issue - there are MANY churches around that would be willing to do gay marriage.

I'm sorry fanboys, but the Dark World theme is not enough to make up for LttP's crummy dungeon selection. When's the last time people honestly had a discussion about 2D Zelda dungeons? It just doesn't happen. They're lacking in music, atmosphere, and scope. It's the main reason why 3D Zelda >> 2D Zelda, and LttP is no exception.

You have to consider HOW it would be released today as well. Looking at SMB, that may be, what, a $5 game on Steam at worst? I think it could easily gain a huge following and fanfare.

And what makes you think it would fare any different than Cave Story, I Wanna Be the Guy, Braid, etc? All well received cult classics, but none of them have a huge following or fanfare that is comparable to the esteem that SMB holds.

Yes to that, and personally yes to SMB specifically if you were to ask me.


Does it really though? Remember, the question is does it stand up to the masses if it were released today. This board, you and I, we are not representative of the masses. We like games like SMB because we grew up with them and that is how "good gaming" came to be defined to us. If it were released today, would it really sell millions and millions of copies? Or would it be just another cult hit, that appeals to the minority of players looking for more challenging games, and is then forgotten after its fleeting moment of indie appeal?

All of those examples, to my knowledge, where either examples of them taking multiple wives in succession(not simultaneously), or they were actually considered to be acts of adultery and not approved by God. Though I admit it's been a while since I've read those parts thoroughly so ehh.
