I would take FE3H > DKC2 in a heartbeat.

I'm convinced FE3H > FEA because Console > Handheld.

DKC2 beat FEA 52-48, which is a narrow gap to make up, especially for a game like FE3H that put 46% on RE2 back in January.

Would you trust DKC2 to score higher than 46% on RE2?

A Three House representative was always going to be in Smash Ultimate. The series has one of the largest cast of characters outside of Pokemon

Yeah, I'm not sure I buy the idea that FE hate is playing a big role.

Awakening lost to Bloodborne in my mind because Console > Handheld and because Bloodborne definitely gained strength since '15.

Three Houses so far has struggled against an underseeded South Park game and a surprising Round 1 stud that pulled a big upset and just had a sequel released last month.

Agreed. Only way it loses is if FE manages to out-Nintendo it on the company hierarchy.

I never bought the XC = DKC2 > FE3H argument (especially considering how DKC2 got ravaged by SotN in '15), but it appears that XCX, XC2, and XC1 Definitive have boosted Xenoblade.

I recommend not trying to 100% this

I mean this game already has a TON of text and side quests that you'll find just by fulfilling requests and talking to townspeople. If you're like me, the pace will be so slow it will almost break you, so adding stuff on to that will just make the game feel chore like

This. The sidequests aren't worth it. My biggest regret with the game is not pushing harder through the main story. Honestly by the time I reached the final chapter, I just wanted to be over with.

Btw, make sure you're WELL STOCKED on recovery items going into the final dungeon.

From what I'm seeing, ALBW/Minecraft/Mario and obviously Octopath seem to be the ones been benefitted from the rally.

Rallying killed my spread bets involving Smash today. Oh well.

Just showed up after being gone since 9pm EST last night.

Here's the thing about rallies... They're GREAT because the whole point of these contests is to draw attention GameFAQs and keep this dying website alive. It's not about us on Board 8 who've been following these matches since Mario vs Servbot; it's about exposing the site to strangers on Reddit or wherever who just might keep coming back once this contest is over.

I may not always love the results of rally, but I love seeing today's votals at 25K with 2 hours left to go--especially after most R1 matches topped out at around 21K. Far as I'm concerned, keep the rallies coming.

The original Mario vs Cloud was an all-time classic. I still remember everyone losing their minds because it was the day Mario Sunshine came out on the West Coast (us East Coasters had to wait till the next day) and all the Mario fans on Board 8 were hoping people would get stuck in Sunshine, come to GFAQs, and vote.

2018 definitely had loads of memorable moments. Like Zelda caving Squalls face in despite bring the underdog. Or Zelda narrowly beating Snake. Or Zelda blowing past Sonic. Or Zelda beating Matio. Or Zelda leading Link. I detect a theme!

Its the goat contest run because it was all unrallied. Tifa vs. Mega Man X was an all-timer too.

Zelda's run was unreal. I knew she'd beat Squall (which pained me because Squall's my all-time fave), but never imagined she'd rip through the N9ers she encountered.

I dont think you can really have much definitive in a contest where half the entries are so weak they dont deserve to make a bracket. I used to do huge round 1 winners/losers and this is like, Doom crushed Inside so woohoo I guess?

It's a shame they had the "2 games per series" limit. I get why that rule was implemented, but it also ensures an abundance of fodder.

Not as low as the Nier series name value. Nier is still niche. If casuals are voting based off "Oh, I've heard of that franchise," they're voting DQ.

I also don't think Hero being in Smash helps DQXI out in any meaningful way

Exposure always helps. Having a character in Smash is a bigger deal on this site than having a character in Soul Calibur.

I'm taking DQ11 based on the fact that it's available to a Nintendo audience, has greater name (series) value, is represented in SSBU, and is typically considered the 2nd-best JRPG of this console generation.

I also don't buy Nier's strength. I think it's easily the weakest 2 Seed.

Skyrim vs SMO or SSBU would have been interesting but they never meet.

SMO's placement in the bracket was criminally bad. Cakewalk matches until it likely gets thumped by SSBU.

I also wish Nier and DQ11 could swap spots. DQ11 vs Pokmon would've be interesting, and a Skyrim vs. DQ11 division final would have a nifty WRPG vs. Traditional JRPG alas.

SC2K4 was such a waste. GameFAQs was in its prime, we had three S-tier contests in a row, and then...that happened.

Outside of Ryu/Jill and Frog's nail-biters, that contest was the epitome of wasted potential.
