Now he faces criminal charges and, likely, an even angrier wife. According to police, Rogelio Andaverde, 34, of Edinburg, in the Texas-Mexico border region, was with his wife at home when two masked men barged into their house carrying guns. They forced him from his home and his hysterical wife called police in a panic, according to the San Antonio Express-News. We took this incident very serious because of the circumstances described to us by the wife, Hidalgo County Sheriff Guadalupe Trevio told the newspaper. People don't just barge into your house and kidnap you for the hell of it. Dozens of law enforcement officers fanned out to search for Andaverde. A police helicopter was even sent out to look for him. But the investigation was going nowhere, and police officers started to become suspicious. I looked at the guys and said, Do you really believe this? Trevio told The (McAllen) Monitor. Hes just a regular Joe, no criminal history anything. Its just not right. Andaverde thought he had outsmarted everyone, police said. He casually returned home and said the kidnappers showed mercy and had set him free. But he later fessed up to investigators, police said, that it was all a ruse so he could go out for a night on the town with his drinking buddies. We have people file false reports all the time, and we put them in jail for it, Trevio told the Express-News. But I've never had someone do it just to get out of the house. Andaverde was charged with making a false report to police. He was released on $5,000 bail. |

I think it would have been better if the wedding was done in like a 1 hour episode. Then have the rest of the season focus on Ted and the Mother. After that, you could have shown throughout the season Barney and Robin's relationship falling apart. Finally, give hints of the mother getting sick, leading to her passing in the penultimate episode. In the final episode flash forward 10 years later or whatever with Robin and Barney divorced already and Ted single. I think in the end it should be Robin wanting to settle down and she chase Ted, but Ted is reluctant because he loved the mother more. In the end he gives in and goes on a date with Robin. The final episode made Ted look desperate to hook up with Robin. He's like okay I met your mom then she died and I loved her yadda, yadda, can I go out with Robin now? He shouldn't be the one chasing Robin. He did that too many times. |

Democratic Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula said he spanked his daughter Sunday night and it's a punishment tool he rarely uses, the Fresno Bee newspaper reported . He said he has no plans to resign. "Everyone who knows us in the community and has seen us in the community knows that I'm a loving father," Arambula said while standing next to his wife, Elizabeth. "I care about my daughters deeply. And I'm just going through a process and trying the best I can to be a husband and father who's putting us back together again." Arambula is a former emergency room doctor who was elected in 2016 to represents parts of Fresno County. He has three daughters, ages 3, 6 and 7. He was arrested Monday after officials at Dailey Elementary Charter School reported a child with an injury, Fresno police Chief Jerry Dyer said. Arambula said he believes his daughter went to school angry and told a teacher about what had happened. He thanked the school, child protective services and the police for doing their jobs. Arambula was released shortly after his arrest and has not been formally charged. His daughters stayed with his parents for two nights until child protective services said they could go back home Wednesday, the newspaper reported. "There's a process to be played out, and this process played out, and they determined that the kids should go back home," Arambula said. "I'm excited about that. But we have a job and a responsibility to continue to be good parents, and that's what I want to work on and will strive to do." Authorities will check in on the Arambulas in 30 days and suggested the family seek therapy, he said. Arambula's arrest was for a misdemeanor not a felony because the injury did not require medical attention, Dyer said, according to the Bee. Spanking a child is generally legal if it's in a fleshy area such as the buttocks but not if it's in a place likely to cause injury like the face, he said. |
