We got no gendered pronouns, we have an alphabet, and we have a fluid sentence structure.

Like, in Chinese if you don't know how to pronounce a word you read, you're just shittered. English you can at least sound it out a bit.

Hell, there's a reason why if a German pilot and a French airport need to communicate they use English. It's just sort of uses a bit of everything so you can get by.

That's not to say it's there isn't a problem with it, but it's better than anything else.

English is one of the most descriptive languages in existence.

Its a dominating force not because its easy to learn or simple to use.

Its also a constantly evolving language, more so than chinese, which resorts to using compound simple words to describe new technologies or tools or ideas.

We also take what we cant make from other languages, something a lot of people complain about for some reason. Something to do with colonialism and appropriation.

I don't see the problem, as long as its not some long hard to pronounce word. if a word already exists for something why not just borrow it instead of wracking our brains to make a new one. I mean lots of languages seem to heavily borrow from other languages. I mean despite sounding nothing alike I found spanish and french had several similarities. if I recall correctly anyways foreign language classes in high school where long ago for me.

No, that just says you haven't bought any in a year, not that they are worthless wastes of money.

Yeah, what we need is an option that casts judgement on others who buy digital games. That's sure to go down well and not backfire in any way.

/sarcasm

I have mixed feelings on digital. I much prefer physical as it worries me that if I lose my account somehow I lose my games (happened to me on the 360. it wanted me to confirm who I was and it turned out the email account I had used had become unactivated due to me not having checked it in so long), but its sooooo much easier to switch between games when its digital.

I agree though as I mentioned about the dine in fee, it was actually a fast food joint I saw that had that. think burger king, was like 10 cents. but i've once seen a manager be anal over something like that. but then again at that location the managers had a tendency of bending over backwards for the customers so they wouldn't get any bad reviews. except the head manager, as I said in another topic I watched her kick a paying customer out just for being angry and taking it out on her.

It's... not a popular market, and oddly enough a lot of lower income people live in them. There's even a negative stereotype but It's cheaper than a condo (double that price ~$200k) or a house ($400k+) unless you want to live 2 hours from civilization.

There is a huge housing bubble in MA right now. Lots of Chinese companies buying up units and price speculating with them.

jesus when I worked construction I worked on 300-400k dollar houses and they where considered at the very least upper middle class, despite being in a neighborhood for rich retired people (some houses where in the million dollar range)

In the bay area a mobile home that was 20k 20 years ago, is now 200k actually. It's pretty horrid to be honest. You also can't rent squat for under 1k and even a room is usually 700-800.

The solution is obviously not to live in the bay area if your in that situation though.

renting isn't that expensive where I live, but I seem to recall trailers costing around 60-80k where I live. some people where I live actually buy large sheds and do some work on them to make them into houses. like insulation and plumbing at the very least. depending on the size of the shed that can run you 6-8 thousand I believe before doing the work to them to make them into homes

That only tends to be true on a small scale, such as picking a neighborhood or college. For the most part, it's less a matter of people moving to find others who share their values (because that's an expensive and inconvenient proposition) but instead an entrenched culture that encourages certain values.

In the case of certain fields, it *can* be a bit of a mix (where underlying values are part of the reason for choosing the field), although many fields can erect pretty strong echo chambers (ie, entertainment).

the article I read on it said it was happening slowly, but surely. so either people are moving to areas with like minded people, or living around these people are slowly changing the way those around them are to match up. cause the article was actually directing its attention towards how its been changing over the decades

nah they cost. best friend back in the day passed out drunk in the parking lot of his apartment complex. neighbors called a ambulance for him. apparently he woke up long enough to tell them he was just really drunk and didn't need help and he woke up the next day with a bill and statement saying he refused medical treatment at the time.

I bet there's some kind of racket going on where the hospital has people go out and call them for BS reasons and then get someone else stuck with the bill. Then the hospital gets more $.

idk this was his next door neighbor though. and dude was legit way too drunk, he didn't remember walking 2 miles home, didn't remember stopping at this place to grab a sausage biscuit on the way but had a receipt for one and passed out face first on asphalt. i'm honestly surprised they didn't cart his ass to the hospital just in case of alcohol poisoning and stick him with that bill as well.

I thought ambulance expenses were covered by the government, or are they owned by private hospitals?

nah they cost. best friend back in the day passed out drunk in the parking lot of his apartment complex. neighbors called a ambulance for him. apparently he woke up long enough to tell them he was just really drunk and didn't need help and he woke up the next day with a bill and statement saying he refused medical treatment at the time.

Just call the hospital and haggle, people do it all the time

You shouldn't have to haggle for your life.

And people shouldnt be forced to save your life

They are not forced to save your life. They chose to get in to a profession that requires them to.

Yes and if they start being forced to work for a much smaller salary then.....guess what bud

What? No one will want to be a doctor anymore? Just like in every single place ever where there is not a lot of money to be made you'll never find a doctor?

couple of things. places like tend to have lower cost of living I assume, and two no not everyone would quit wanting to be doctors but a lot would turn away from it. but to be honest I would rather the world go back to people only becoming doctors because they actually want to help people. i'm all for doctors and teachers making a living, but I feel them making as much as they do (on the teachers I mean college professors) is at least partially responsible why this shit is too expensive to begin with america

most people I know just don't pay their medical bills. I know a guy who owes half a million dollars in medical bills and he never payed. then again the probably don't bug him cause hes on disability and they know he can't pay that shit getting 780 a month.

Take her to the vet.

Did you seriously just assume that cat's gender?

I mean, assuming she is pregnant, it usually means that. Also, since some people thought it was my cat and I was asking if she was pregnant, they would be on that line of thinking...

It's just a gender identity troll / joke. Just ignore it.

I figured it was. But I'd feel weird to just let it sit there.

Also, I have to go play Shadow run for six hours starting in a couple hours. Hopefully, she be ok...

black people voice white characters

Such as

wasn't darth vader voiced by a black dude. also I think one animated batman movie, but not positive.

and darth vader is pretty up there when it comes to iconic fictional characters
