This is a feeling I had while playing the main game but has anyone else increasingly got the feeling that all these new moves are essentially just reskins of existing moves from other types, turning types into stale mirrors of each other?

Eh, there are still plenty of unique moves being added every generation. Even this batch of DLC moves includes a bunch of unique moves, like some that work with terrains. Even when they do make clone moves, they generally don't go that far with it. We still don't even have Quick Attack variations for many types, even ones that make sense like Electric or Flying.

Huh, so one of the new move tutors is an Ice attack called Expanding Force that's only taught to Psychic Pokemon (so the only Ice-type that can currently learn it is Galarian Mr. Mime/Mr. Rime). It gets boosted if Psychic Terrain is in effect. Sounds like something that was meant for Galarian Articuno that they just decided to give to other Psychics because fuck actually using Ice Pokemon I guess.

Also there's finally a strong physical Ghost move (really only usable in competitive play though), a Water-type U-Turn, and a Ground type Scald. A Dragon-type Bullet Seed too, but nothing with Skill Link or Technician can learn it, lol.

The same reason I feel compelled to watch Riverdale. Its first season was the only one that wasn't irredeemable garbage. And now I'm 3 seasons deep, might as well make it 4?

I'm only in the middle of it, but so far Season 4 has been better than 3 imo. Of course you still have to turn your brain off to accept all the crazy shit these high school students are doing, but at least it's not as unbelievably stupid as a murderous game of Dungeons & Dragons taking over an entire town.

It definitely doesn't take that long mapping out eryth sea, just wait until after all of the teleporters are working and all the islands are pretty accessible from different hovering reefs. Then once you've found every location the rest of the map fills itself in

Boy, there's really not much of a break between the onslaught of Frontier quests and the onslaught of Alcamoth quests. Well, unless you want to spend 5+ hours mapping out Eryth Sea. I made an effort. I did. But I just couldn't muster up the will to do it all a second time. I'll probably just chip at it here and there while doing quests.

Talking to everyone doesn't take much time at all. The problem comes later, when you don't know who you need to talk to again to update the chart.

It's not even just knowing who to talk to again, it's knowing when to talk to them too. You could talk to someone at 10:50 and not get the affinity change because you needed to wait and talk to them at 11:00 instead.

btw for those in Satorl Marsh and working on sidequest stuff

If you get a quest from Ewan about What is Love and then What is Courage, where the latter he will travel to Ether Mines and Satorl Marsh... if you follow him to Satorl Marsh you can trade him for a rare and annoying collection item, Forget-You-Not, two of which are also required for an optional Colony 9 quest

note the What is Love/Courage quests are mutually exclusive to a quest giving Matryona a Lake Drop to change up a painting, and Ewan won't trade the Forget-You-Not in Satorl Marsh until you have 3* affinity with Colony 6

so if you're like me and you've done everything you can in Satorl Marsh for now and still can't get a Forget-You-Not you might wanna keep this in mind and keep Ewan's quest around until you can pluck some off him

I kept this post in mind and left Ewan standing in Satorl Marsh, but then I got the Jiroque quest before getting Colony 6 to 3*. But wouldn't you know it, the first time I traveled back to Satorl Marsh, there were two blue exclamation marks for Forget-You-Nots ready to collect right away. So hooray!

My first PS1 was pawned by mom and she never got it back.

I have no idea what eventually happened to my original Gameboy, Pocket, Color, Advance, SP, or second PS1. I guess they just sat in drawers or something and were eventually thrown out.

I lost my PS2 and Wii through a falling out with my first roommates (the PS2 wasn't doing great by then though).

My DS and 360 were stolen during a move.

Everything else I still have (3DS, New 3DS, PSP, PS3, PS4, Switch).

I started playing as Melia. I dunno if I'm playing her right. Usually I summon fire, then copy it, then thunder or water and then start using her art while alternating summoning more. I assume that's it.

I'm not entirely sure how the buffs stack or work with each other, but I start with lightning before summoning fire and copying it (and shooting them both off for double blaze). I'm working under the impression having the ether boost from lightning makes the fire attacks stronger. Then I discharge the electric, and summon and maintain aqua for small regen. By then my lightning refreshes, so I summon that again followed by wind, and discharge both. But yeah, when possible I always try to summon the lightning before shooting off the fire/wind elementals. It would be nice if someone could confirm that holding onto a lightning does in fact boost the damage for fire/wind (and if it boosts the blaze damage then even better!)

damn Upas and Hodes weren't dropping their Embers or Camouflages so off to check trade items I went!

After exploring the whole of Makna Forest, I only ended up with 1 Enigma Lotus. You can be damn sure I said fuck that and traded for the 6 I needed for Pepa's cuteness quest.

I've been going through all the Frontier Village quests with Melia in the lead and Sharla in the party. Gotta build up that female affinity to show Paola that girls can be best friends too! Then Riki's thrown in because how could I not include the Heropon? Taking down the unique monsters isn't exactly the fastest with this team though, lol.
