Is your original post defending using it back then or now?I defend the use of it back then and still now depending on hospital policy. The reason is that the only side effect that we are concerned about is drug induced hepatitis, for which the treatment is to stop the medication. So even if it has shown to not work but barely work in other studies, I would still give as we don't actually have any other options right now other than dexamethasone and giving a NOAC for anticoagulation. The second a trial or new literature was publish saying this particular med worked, we had to jump on it. The fact is, we had no idea how to treat this shit and we had no options. So yes, so what if FDA approves it, who cares if its expensive? Do you rather be trached, peg'd and live in a nursing home for all your life or pay $500? I rather pay $500. --- |

Residents are not treated as human beings in many programs. Thank god my program has some sense of decency. residents are the pillars that make the hospital run, without them the whole hospital pretty much shuts down, hence why reaidents are usually asked to work if they are covid positive also, you can report literally anything to ACGME for program violations, but they will not do jack shit for you. --- |
