Now that I have a very solid gaming PC, I have FFXIV on there, and spent some time figuring out keybinds and hotbars. Started a new character just to play around with and get a feel for the game again. Character is already level 15 lol. Will go back to my main one soon, I think Im up to MSQ level 76 in ShB.

Now that my exam is done, I can play some more.

Ventured to Fort Gael, and ended up being teleported to Redmane Castle. Wandered around for quite some time. Those enemies with circular blades for hands that try and essentially eat you are terrifying!

Also, Misbegotten Warrior seemed fairly easy as I was essentially stunlocking him, then that fucker Crucible Knight dropped in to help. Ended up beating it eventually, up to level 50 now.

I should probably go back to the area after Godrick and actually progress a bit lol.

And here I am, still scared to try a dreambreaker, while knowing I should have enough for it. Most of my HCs arent very leveled, and I definitely dont have many rat tails, but I definitely have the tech for at least a few!

Now that my exam is done though, I can spend a little more time putting together some teams and making progress though! Still only beaten 5 AOdins, so got 11 more of those.

I still don't think I've ever seen a shimmering painting...

First two record markers gave me a perfect Prompto gun and Ricard spear. Hell of a start. Next two definitely not great lol (3% Aranea armor, 0% Prompto armor).

Been relatively slow going, as I haven't had a crazy long time to play, overall. Mainly exploring, finding some caves/catacombs and bosses in there.

Went back to Sellia cave to try and finish it (seriously, fuck those centipede things), but Fallingstar Beast kicked my face in.

Finished Stormveil Castle, went and did Castle Morne too, and finally went back to kill Crucible Knight, (I am SL 41, was 38 when I killed him). Took down an Erdtree Avatar too, and found a walking mausoleum. Currently rolling with Bloodhound's Fang+2 as my weapon of choice!

Bears cut Cohen and Goldman today, Cohen with an injury designation. Sucks because he clearly hasn't healed from his ACL tear back in 2020, and it's been about a year and a half. Hopefully he can play again.

Can someone remind me why Orans AASB is so revered? I have his sync and G+, but not the AASB. Debating if I want to do a dream select or not. For reference, I have both of Mogs AASBs, Caits AASB, Tyros and Quintas as well. And Lillisettes, if that matters.

Explored a bunch, but haven't done a whole lot of actual progression (killed Margit but haven't continued exploring the castle yet). Found some caves, killed a ginormous bear in one of them.

Yeah that phase 2 change was pretty crazy. Basically ensures that you can only really get one hit in after dodging his attack, because of his counter if he realizes youre behind him. My uchikatana is +3, but I dont think I have the attrition to kill him, since one or two mistakes by me means death. I have a 100% phys reduction shield, but need 3 more strength to wield it. Maybe after that

Question, can I import my character to PC, from the PS4? Im pretty sure I can, as long as I have the game bought on PC as well, but I just wanted to make sure.

Built one just over a month ago, and have been doing a lot of my gaming on it, so figured this might be easier (though elden ring is taking up much of my time currently).

I finally found a weapon that I like, the twinblade! It turned that knight encampment near the beginning from something I needed to stealth though (and I still died to the tough knight more often than not) into something I could slash through without a problem. I've even managed to beat two Evergaol bosses (still can't even come close against Crucible Knight, though). In the hub area, I also beat the AI invader. I tried twenty times with my dual starting swords and couldn't do it, with the twinblade I managed first try without even needing to heal.

So I found that aforementioned boss by accident lol. Fought him like, 10-15 times, havent won yet, but got him under half. Im only SL 20 though, I assume I have to be a touch higher to kill him? I feel like I have most of his pattern down (though that stomp frontal AOE still gets me at times), but my damage is so small.

I totally missed him at first because I deliberately avoided the building thinking there might be enemies. He sells the item you need for crafting.

Re visit there after exploring a little as well, for another NPC encounter!

How many magic Odins you got left? I have Cait's AASB honed, and yeah, it's been pretty great. I just have him spam AcM.

Huh, realized that I had killed Physical Alex, but not Magic Alex. Whoops.

Magic Alexander defeated in 22.05.

Same team as above, but put Ultimecia in slot 3 this time. Absentmindedly took fabula mage (and never used it lol) instead of wall, and Kuja got murdered by a laser. Brought him back a bit later with Elarra AASB, dropped his chain, and went on a rampage. The first two turns of Ultimecia's Sync, while still under DAASB, are so unfair lol.

That's 13/16 6* magicites done, with only magic Shiva, magic Valefor, and Physical Diabolos left. Will kill Alex 3 more times to get my second version of him, and gotta go back and kill Ifrit another 2 times because apparently I only have a lvl 65 as my second copy.

Yeah as I understand it combining syncs and duals is usually the way to go since it'll triplecast the sync command and then still cast the linked ability (though there's a bit of a tradeoff since sync commands are typically a bit weaker than HAs)

Yeah so about that.

I put Ultimecia in the bottom slot so shed eat the 4-hit attack, as she needs the gauge. Totally forgot about wall, as Im used to bringing fabula mage, so that 4 hit move did like, 9k in total lol.

This is the first Odin where I totally avoided the slot 2/4 dying mechanic. Why? Because holy shit is Ultimecias combo busted. First move after casting her sync (with DAASB already up) was a quint cast C1, with her HA as a chase. The last 3 casts were all 30k per hit. He was in the midst of counting down to argent zantetsuken and it pushed him into the 40s%, where he jumped in rage every couple percent, so that worried me initially. But her and emperor pushed him under 30% before he could cast anyway. Super close to a sub30, but not worried about that for Odins.

5/16 done, and this is one Ill definitely remember for the missions when they come back!

Thats a pretty solid plan actually. I think I staggered a sync and awakening for first chain, and the same for the second chain. For magic dark weak, will be interesting though, as Ultimecia as her DAASB, dark Sync, and AASB. Combining her DAASB with her sync looks pretty bonkers, if Im reading the descriptions right. Especially the first two turns of the sync.

This was definitely a slog towards the end. I made the mistake of using Agrias and TGCs Syncs during the first chain, then AASBs later. Probably shouldve reversed the order on those. Ramzas AOSB hit for 77k per hit, which was nice. Elarra and Tyro died right at the end, and thankfully TGC got off an OSB with Odin at 0.2% to kill (though I think him and Agrias still had last stand).

4/16 done on main (both earth weaks and holy weaks). I seem to be set far better for support with magic teams though.

Some of my favourite cutscenes from that storyline involve Enkidu the chicken. Absolutely hilarious. Especially the post-SB arc, where Gil had to eat him to stay alive, but he came back in the end anyway lmao.

Got Tsukoyomi today instead for trial roulette, so that was fun! A nice change from the others.

Garuda and Shiva, again, were my last two trial roulettes lol. At least theyre both quick.

Gonna finish the final coil of bahamut today hopefully, then potentially start Alexander. For the later ones, is duty finder an option? I know it wasnt for Bahamut, but wasnt sure about the later ones, or whether I even should (should I do PF instead).

Is final coil of Bahamut (all 4 turns) soloable? Still need to get that done. Did the first two coils at least.

Are there any ARR EX trials that aren't soloable by a DPS? I hit 80, and want to try and get at least a couple mounts. Got both from Garuda at least, and still have Titan, Ifrit, Shiva, and Moggle Mog to beat for a first time.

Also, just finished the ShB role quests (phys ranged DPS). Wiped twice to the last one because my partner couldn't stay alive. Lotsa back and forth from the same spots.

Up to MSQ 75 currently.

That Titania fight is chaotic, especially in the second last, and last, phase. We wiped once, I think frost rune took out half the party.

I think I've gone through one run of Thornmarch that DIDN'T wipe at least once. I hate that fight, especially with how amusing the music is at the same time lol.

Of the roulettes, I only do the trial one right now (since fighting a random boss is fun, and I'm still progressing through MSQ with my main character, so I don't need the EXP). My last 5 days worth:

Man Hopes Sync is so busted.

Needed to re kill Diabolos for Dr. Mogs homework, and though I still need a physical
kill, I was running short on time. Took out Rydia from my previous kill a while back, tossed Hope in, and killed Diabolos in 19.10.

Also, honing Caits AASB was also a great call. Have his glint+ for the def/res/mind buff, and basically just spam ACM.

Did one pull, got both glint+s. Oh well

Are the SB role quests essentially the job quests from the previous 3 games?

Holy hell does wait mode 2 make it so much less stressful in terms of planning moves and such. Also, having Cait's glint+ for aegis was also great. I do have Orran's glint+ for physical teams, just not his AASB unfortunately (though I do have his Sync).

Rem and Hope's Sync/AASB combo was pretty crazy. I'm not sure if I could have pushed it earlier than I did, but I let their Syncs get right towards the end, then dropped AASBs with the second chain, and finished him just before that second chain expired.

Can someone remind me what the improved wait mode works on? I saw something that said it does indeed work on the Omega dungeon, but I thought I remembered someone in here saying it didn't, and defaults back to speed 3.5, even though it shows speed 2.

I gotta remember that fight to do the physical version anyway. Only thing I remember is the rift being a thing and somehow having to manage it in phase 3?
