I've also hit a wall now after just completing Bahamut. I thought that was okay but a lot of people talked it up but I felt a little underwhelmed based on the hype. Now I'm back at The Hideaway and being told to go check in on our friends and, like, I just don't want to. I'm tired of the formula.

He was already found guilty of sexual assault that was more than likely rape and just not sure because of his micropeen. Hes been a criminal his entire life and gotten away with slaps on the wrist because of privilege. Its also blatantly obvious hes guilty regardless of whatever the courts might say when we get there

TotK is better, but it also doesn't hit as hard as BotW did. I think it's ultimately a little too much of the same.

Deaths Door is great for a free game

Said it in the other topic, but it had my favorite joke of the year.

One of my biggest problems with the sidequests is how the game seemed to drop a shit ton of them more and more as the game went on.

Right before the last mission (this is NON SPOILER I promise), the characters were like "okay the villain is over there right? We better waste no time going to beat them up!" and then the game was like "okay but first, wrap up every supporting character's side story and watch these inspiring cutscenes at the end of each one where they really show their resolve!"

Maybe some of those sidequests could've been spread out a bit more and it would've felt both more natural and less tedious.

Honestly, I wouldn't say the story aspect of any singular sidequest is bad per se. I would say that most of them are just increasingly longer ways of conveying the same information we've been getting the entire game. Moreover, they never top the telling of that idea after the two Morne sidequests.

Gameplay wise, though? They're not good, and get increasingly stretched out. Talk to people 3-6 times, go obliterate fodder you've fought before. Over and over and over. The problem is that putting story behind that makes a lot of people care less about that story.

I promised a regional dumb thing when CNReal appeared so heres what happened to Toonami in the UK and Ireland:

So, in the early 2000s Cartoon Networks Toonami block spun off into its own channel in several markets, showing a lot of the same anime as the US block with western action cartoons as well. Overall the aesthetic was very similar to the US Toonami brand. The channel did pretty well for a number of years, the audience was growing, and things seemed to be going pretty well until in early 2006 they announced a rebrand with this truly terrible ad -

which turned the slick futuristic aesthetic into giggling cartoon blob monsters, and announced a slate of live action sitcoms and reality shows. In other words, trying to turn the whole thing into The Disney Channel, but worse (some of the shows even ran on Disney in the US). Needless to say, the ratings tanked and the channel was effectively shuttered just over a year later.

The wild thing is, this happened before live-action things like Re-Animated aired on Cartoon Network in the US, and years before CN Real. In other words Turner had already tried the pivot to live-action in an English speaking market before they tried it in the US and it had already bombed. Why they kept trying for years is beyond me.
