But one day he was negligent and the cat escaped out the front door. It never came home. It was about 4. My husband had 2 cats before I met him. He let them out all the time. They disappeared about a year later. My cousin had an outdoor cat. It would stay out for days and bring home birds it caught. A real predator type. It was killed by coyotes after a few years outside. Its honestly negligent of owners to just assume cats have these super instincts that allow them to survive.
