It is a game that defines a generation in ways. A generation who's youngest members are 6 and who's oldest members are 19 or 20. Of course there's people older than that who love it, but that's where it is most popular. The average age of this site is in it 30s. I didn't pick Octopath because I thought it would get rallies I picked it because of the only poll it has ever appeared in. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/7463-best-of-2018-switch In this poll, although its crowded by games and potential SFF, Octopath was clearly better than top tier Indie games like Hollow Knight and Celeste. I thought it had a shot at Undertale, who's strength isn't great unless propped up by a giant contest shattering rally. Then I thought it would put away Shovel Knight because Hollow > Shovel imo. Admittedly, the matches have been way closer than I thought they would be, but Octopath is not a weakling.
