Starting with dq1 would be the best, just to get that one out of the way. Just a 1 hero party lol. I still enjoy it though. Dq2 is divided, but I love it for the reasons others don't like it. It's a brutal game. Once you get the ship, you can sail to islands with monsters way to strong and get wiped out lol. Also the last overworld area has a monster that can cast "Sacrifice" and wipe out your whole party. Even a fully maxed out party can get wreaked there. I'm just a masochist like that lol. :) Dq3 is where they take what the first 2 games did, and it comes together and gets it right. --- I personally like Link as a Rugged Shaman Swashbuckler more than Resourceful Gadget Boy.
