| gamer167 08/01/18 12:39:05 PM #27 | Watching the video it definitely looks like bad decision making but you have to put yourself in the officers shoes. -Get the call knowing the suspect has already stabbed someone -Life or death situation -Officer is in possession of a deadly weapon -Perpetrator is in possession of a deadly weapon -Hostage with their life in imminent danger being used as a human shield -Hard to tell in the video but he could have already been cutting the hostages throat, prompting the initiating fire -Already tried non-lethal means to subdue the suspect -Adrenaline -Time critical split second decision making -Has pobably zero real life experience with hostage situations -Has probably never discharged their weapon outside of a range, let alone at a person You could train your whole life for this scenario and still fuck it up. |
