PS1 had a huge library of JRPGs, but besides that, N64 was better. Nintendo basically invented 3D video games as we know them now during the N64 generation. Mario 64 continues to be one of the very best games ever made. Basically every action-adventure / hack n slash game owes everything to Zelda OoT, including Dark Souls and Devil May Cry.

That is exactly why it's so widely beloved. The most popular arcs in DiU are just about the trouble Josuke and Okuyasu get into when they're goofing off.

Man if you don't get The Vibes of being a teenager in the summer of 1999 that Diamond is Unbreakable captures so perfectly, I don't know what to tell.

But part 4 is the best part OP. Dialing back the stakes to tell a more personal story did wonders for the story.

I otherwise mostly agree. Part 8 was really bad, had a few good parts but was mostly sloppy and meandering. 5 and 6 aren't great. 7 is probably Araki at the peak of his ability to write characters and story. I've only read like two chapters of part 9 but it seemed ok.

Joe Biden is the absolute last person to be making that callout.

It's kind of funny because

1) He's not wrong, there is a lot of xenophobic sentiment in Japan, about as much as much or perhaps more than America.

but also

2) Japan makes it EXTREMELY easy to immigrate there and become a citizen because they are desperate for foreigners. Don't speak of word of Japanese? But know English? Gratz, you're just a few steps away from getting a job as an English teacher at a school and moving there lol. It is objectively way easier to immigrate to Japan than it is America.

Japan has been trying to make its country attractive to foreigners since the 80s, look up the "Cool Japan" initiative if you want to learn more. The push to get kids in America watching anime in the 80s and 90s literally came from the Japanese government. Fast forward to the present and everyone is watching anime movies in theaters and playing Japanese video games.

Biden's entire point is that "oh we welcome immigrants, unlike JAPAN and RUSSIA." Brother your immigration policy is basically exactly the same as Trump's. The American government is hellbent on making life MISERABLE for people who want to immigrate here. Japan may have a huge problem with racism and reactionaries (I just wouldn't throw no stones from America's glass house about it), but on the level of government policy, Japan is extremely welcoming to immigrants. They literally put out ads encouraging people to move there. You may, as a foreigner, face some discrimination... but actually getting into Japan is quite easy. They want you there!

Back when I was unemployed, I made a hell of a lot less than that last for like 6 years, with the occasional odd job or part-time. But the cost of living was generally a lot lower back then, I did some couch surfing, had room mates, etc.

Now that I am gainfully employed and have a mortgage and shit, it'd be more a question what I do with the money than how long it'd "last." I could definitely make $150 last like at least a decade if I decided I wanted to quit my job and just Enjoy Life for a while. But re-entering the work force after would be rough after it runs out, in my 40s with a horrible employment gap would look terrible on a resume.

$150k would definitely be enough to just pay down the rest of my mortgage, like that other guy said. That'd be cool, I would still need to keep working but then I could proceed forward, take more risks, etc knowing that I would always have a place to live. I would only need to pay property tax and such, easily covered by a part-time job.

But there's also a bunch of different ways you can spin $150,000 in liquid cash into getting rich. Buy some property, invest, etc. It would be a serious decision I would probably spend weeks or months considering.
