Plenty of people do respect it and appreciate the police for doing the difficult job they have and keeping communities safe.

And I don't think the qualities that make someone a good cop can be teached in a classroom years after their core character has already been set.

It's a public service job that doesn't pay very well and is a really difficult job. Quite frankly the vast majority of people don't have the character and temperment to be good at a job where they're placed in a position of authority and control over others day in and out. A bachelor or associate's degree isn't gonna change that

Surgeons, Firefighters, Pilots, Farmers, Janitors...

All important jobs that help change the world. All that make society function.

They're difficult(sometimes life-threatening), unrewarding(sometimes), and don't get much respect from society.

Succeeding in life is never an easy task. You have to fight for your life to gain that. And even then, it's only temporary.

Sometimes, success can turn on you, inflate your ego, and screwing over everything.

Many jut want the easy way out(or the Coward's Way Out?). To some, it's more fun and easier to be the villain than it is to be the hero.

Some even hated Reagan.

In the 2000's, it was Bush(Jr.) that was considered the worst America has gotten.

Then, it was Obama. Now...
