The sequel trilogy was inconsistent and disorienting from start to finish with no clear idea what story it was trying to tell. The original writers intended every season to be an all new cast of heroes and they forced them reuse the season 1 cast so they tried writing for it but then went on strike which made it so that a plot that was never intended to exist had to be made by people with no idea what to do with it causing an abrupt ending in season 2.
