I beat a modded Kotor 1 for the first time around the start of the year and quite enjoyed it.

I'd say it's definitely the blueprint for Mass Effect 1, so if you can get along with that game you can get something out of this one.

That said, if you aren't into Star Wars much, I wouldn't bother. Try looking for a youtube playthrough or even a story summary instead.
