My ship is currently about 5000 light years from sol. I'm also far above the galactic plane and can easily see other galaxies, and dream of going to them. The way I understand it, forward time travel is theoretically possible but a one way trip, while backwards time travel is basically impossible with our current understanding of the laws of physics and whatnot. This is true, you just need to move at fast speeds. Astronauts move forward in time fraction of a second, depending how long they remain in orbit. If you traveled at or close to the speed of light, you can travel as far into the future as you wanted. It would be instantanious (if moving at the speed of light) or very quickly (if close to the speed of light). --- [P]lease remember, science rhymes with compliance.
