| _____Cait 02/27/20 5:31:40 AM #1 | (Im in Japan) Government just requested we all close schools until at least Spring Break (Around week 3 of March) This is a pretty big deal, schools stay open for almost everything. Kids go to school when they are sick, during bad weather (barring typhoons). i think this is a safety net so the olympics dont get delayed, but this is bad for teachers. Let someone else take your paycheck, pay your bills first, your debts second, and you get a small allowance until you learn some sense of responsibility. So Forget the fact that interest is insane, that colleges lied about stats and repayment, and that many of these colleges even closed down. These arent students who became doctors asking for forgiveness, they are students asking for help because the system screwed them and got away with it. My GF finished her master's program last year and the place she took the loans from initially wanted like $700 a month from her when she graduated. Nobody is paying $5 a month lol. I've been paying off my loans since like 2013, and I still have like $700 left, never missed a payment or anything, they're just outlandish with the amount of interest they hit you with. Garnishment also usually comes with bad credit. You get garnished for going into default. Your credit crashed when you default. You cant buy big things like cars or houses or event rent some apartments with bad credit, Bloomberg wants to skip default and just take it out of your paycheck, forcing you to pay it back. You can choose to default and wreck your credit now. You get no choice with Bloombergs plan. it also begs the question.... If you run your own business or are an independent contractor, that gets a little more complicated and you might want to go to a professional if you have no idea what to do.
