I definitely got an over-the-top vibe from the previews. Even if it is, I could still see myself enjoying it if the writing is well done, but Im initially skeptical of these over the top based on true events types of things because unless theyre handled masterfully (like Tarantino) they tend to come off as a bit masturbatory.

Not any sooner than they would otherwise. I suppose if you were holding the button to keep the door open for a long time the close door button might make it close sooner.

The amount of time that the doors stay open is mandated by law. Jamming the close door button does nothing if it pushed before that time frame has expired.

I was under the impression that holding the "close door" button does the same thing because emergency services may need to get in sometimes to get to a floor right away or something. At least I feel like I read that somewhere.

Yeah they do a Halloween and a Christmas thing. Not everything is open for the Christmas one, as it's too cold for some of the coasters.
