Tbh, I think Cell saga felt like a good conclusion to the story. The whole build-up of DBZ being Gohan's potential and ending with him finally passing up the legendary Goku and ascending beyond the mythical super saiyan form Vegeta thought as the ceiling of the saiyan race felt like a great conclusion to that story.

but he didn't pass him up. Gohan gets arrogant and gets wrecked, and Goku has to step in and guide him every step of the way

That's...not really what a Deus ex Machina is. His presence is a very major part of the ongoing plot from there. Plus, Goku said when he arrived that he was about ready to use Instant Transmission to come down and wipe up Frieza himself.

Deus ex Machina is reserved for things that come out of literal nowhere to solve an unsolvable problem, whereas Trunks is more of an enigma who brings with him a greater purpose and plot development. He's basically the exact opposite of a Deus ex Machina. He's there to move the story forward, not to tie it up neatly.

Nah the sound effects in DBZ are incredible and really capture the scale and impact. The way it captures speed is also impressive

miss shows like these. A lighthearted procedural show with a new villain of the day with an overarching main storyline building each episode. Reminds me of Jackie Chan Adventures in how its structured.

And I miss how morally righteous the main characters are. Im getting sick of tv shows with gray characters. Lemme just identify with some good people for a second.

But Im really enjoying the story and many subplots. I have no idea where this is gonna go.

also love seeing the scofields. And thats when I realized this show is as addicting and pleasurable to watch as prison break. Need more shows like this

I would say most cared/took notice when an unjust war was launched lasting a decade. Having family and friends serve in Bush's/neocon war one takes note of politics. Also seeing GOP fighting against increase wages and keeping health care expensive 30 year olds see decrease in purchase power.

i think subbed does a much better job with letting suspenseful and dramatic scenes carry themselves without annoying inner monologues and obnoxious music, but the dubbed is better for a lot of fight scenes
