Probably Dark, but Ice and Summon are also worth considering.

I have a decent stock of Dark (298), but they are needed in so many abilities.
My Ice stock is much lower (164), but I'm already slaughtering Ruby Dragon for them.
Summon is my lowest (94), but there's only so many Summon orbs you can actually use, and I already have r5 Bahamut and Tiamat.

Apparently Fire is my next lowest (226), but I don't know if there are many abilities that need those.

It was an S/L fest, but I finally did it. I got the sub-30 on Fenrir. That's all of them!
I'm still kinda surprised I managed to pull this off with my mediocre ice relics.

Sarah - Protectga, Allegro con Moto - BSB - Mako Might

RW Fabula Raider - Magicite Wendigo

Raines has full 5* motes, others only have 4*.

Shantotto spams the 4* Witch, then USB and more Witch spam
Raines starts with the RW, then Wraths until BSB, then Chain Blizzaga spam for 19,998 each.
Edea does MM, then BSB (after being entrusted by Larsa). Cmd1 was around 45k each.
Sarah does Protectga, then waits a bit so that her BSB lands after the first SWW. Next Allegro, then heal and refresh Allegro after every 3 Edea casts.
Larsa entrusts his first gauge to Edea, then spams Wrath. He can cast his BSB shortly after the 2nd SWW (which gets blinked)

If not-Sarah gets slowed on the first SWW, it's a S/L. Then there were a bunch of fails when Fenrir just kept focusing on the same character with his first few attacks.
It's not like I need to farm wind orbs, and I already have 4 of each Wind magicite. so I don't care too much that it's unreliable.

No 5* motes were used on this team.

Everyone's in the backrow, but Lunge still hurts a lot without Protectga, so I don't want to see it too much. I could give Papa Protectga, but I'm not sure I'd still be sub 30 then.

Sazh proves himself as a quality buffer+entruster once more. The Faithga+double instant cast allowed me to launch Shantotto USB around the 10 second mark, while still buffing everyone's damage by ~50%, which is why I prefer him over spending motes on a pure entruster.

Ashe takes a bit longer to start her BSB, but her initial damage with Valigarmanda is better, so she doesn't need her BSB as early.

Lenna can kinda keep up with the damage, thanks to TGC mode, but it's not an easy task for her. Still, the 3rd Faithga noticeably improves damage output, so I feel she's a better pick here than, say, Yshtola with a stronger medica. Maybe Yuna with her BSB2 would be a safer pick, but the Res-buff on Lenna's USB is neat. I should give Yuna a try, I guess.

I just can't take farming Shinra 100. Dark orbs are nice, but it just takes so long. I don't care how efficient it is.

I'm fine with Torment farming, but playing 5 or more minutes to spend 7 stamina: no thanks.

Anima basically requires a guide to find. You have to repeat the lame minigames in Gagazet Cave. Then she'll spawn at the Ronso camp in Mt Gagazet.

I'm not really convinced Shelke would help me all that much. I've just never used a dedicated entruster.

If I end up diving Shelke, it will be because most Bravery+Vitality dives are meh, and you kinda have to dive one of them to keep your motes balanced.

Not sure if you know this, but it's kind of important:

Tidus, Wakka, Kimahri, Rikku Celestial weapons are weaker if they are not at full HP
Yuna and Lulu Celestial weapons are weaker if they are not at full MP
Auron's Celestial weapon gets stronger as he loses HP

This only applies to the defense-ignoring physical attacks, so not magic or overdrives.

I got Shadow USB from the 6* LD during the last fest, and he's stupid good, especially if you have the 5*motes to give him that Ninja doublecast. Hone the physical Ninja abilities (Shadow Embodied and Ancestral Reflection) and go to town. You can also use him with the similar water abilities. It won't trigger the quick cast, but you'll still do two physical attacks afterwards, and those have a very high multiplier.

To be fair, this isn't an USB that is perfect for all content. Against bosses who spam lots of AoE physicals, you might find it underwhelming, since it's hard to keep the physical blink active. Against magic spamming bosses though, this is absolutely top tier dps.

In addition to the other purple spheres, there's also Luck Spheres from Spherimorph 2.0 (original creation)

Celestial Weapons ignore defense with Attack and all similar abilities (status busters, breaks, Quick Hit, etc.), but ODs don't ignore defense. That's why your overdrives are currently not doing the crazy damage you'd expect. As you bring that strength stat closer to 255, you'll find Wakka's Attack Reels doing 1.2 million, eventually. You won't hit those numbers against Dark Aeons, but Monster Arena creatures don't have anywhere near as much defense. Most Area or Species bosses can be OHKO'd by Wakka's AR. Original Creations won't go down quite as easily.

Unrelated, but you'll also want to use Anima's OD sometime, if you haven't used in a while. 1,6 million with one action is just beautiful (I remember this worked on the wolf)

About the Lvl 4 spheres, you want to bribe the Calm Land Chimeras for them. I think it's 200,000 Gil.
You can either run around in the Calm Lands until you encounter them, or you just fight them from the Monster Arena, which costs some Gil, but saves you the headache of searching for them. I suggest the Monster Arena.

The ideal strategy for getting red spheres is, again, the Monster Arena. There are two bosses that drop 40 items after Overkill. It's Kottos (purple guy with 4 arms who loves countering) or the Species Dragon creature (don't remember the name). I think Wakka with Attack Reels can OHKO either of them, if he's strong enough.
So just use a distiller or the ability before killing him, and you'll get 40 of your desired sphere. You might only get 2 if you're unlucky (1/8 chance). That means your drop would have been a 2 Dark Matters.

I'm fairly confident that 5* moting Shantotto and honing the shit out of Hell Thunder would get me the sub-30 on Bismarck (I have her USB, BSB and both SSBs, but missing the Chain)

As for Fenrir, I did pick up Edea's BSB from the gem-only banner, but I doubt that alone would be good enough. My ice relics are shit.

Bribing Malboros is grossly inefficient.
As has been posted before, farm 3AP weapons with two free slots from One Eye in the Monster Arena. You have to capture 4 (?) of each eyeball monster to unlock him.

I don't remember how you get the mats for the other abilities, unfortunately. If you can't afford Triple OD for everyone, Double OD is fine as an alternative.

Is it generally worth it to spend mythril doing the super bosses of the events. Are there any particular accessories I should be prioritizing.

Events that give elemental or status resist are the most important.
That still leaves a lot, so I'd say the most important status resists are Instant KO, Petrify, Slow, Stop and Sleep. Paralyze and Confuse are also annoying, but pretty rare.
For element resist, the Gigas Armlets (II) are probably the best.

I believe there's a list of all accessories on Reddit.

Oh yeah, about the Zell question, it lasts 25 seconds.

Do you have any Astra? You could RW one, if you don't. My RW just so happens to be Larsa BSB. Sleep won't be a problem with that. Do you have Enkidu or Unicorn?

You should at least be able to kill one Ogre before he uses Sleep.
Papa BSB should destroy the Ogres and Maria BSB will destroy Red Soul himself.

Do you have Larsa BSB? I use that one in my Fenrir team to prevent the whole Slow-BS.

You could also delay your first Hastega until after his first Savage Withering Wind, around the 10 second mark iirc.

I had no trouble at all with Red Soul. I just mage-teamed him to death.

I picked sleep resist accessories just to be safe, but they probably weren't even necessary. Larsa BSB provided additional defense, and if things had gone badly, I would have still had Enkidu for a party-wide Esuna.

The ogres don't have a lot of health, and while Red Soul had decent HP, Maria's BSB just murdered him.

I'd suggest saving. The next FFX banner isn't that far anymore, and if you want Tidus stuff, that's the place to pull for it.

Got my first sub-30 clear on Dark Dragon. It was a S/L fest, but I'm still happy about it.

Ramza - Lifesiphon, Entrust - Shout - Mako Might
Beatrix - Guardbringer - BSB - Weakness+30% (full Legend Spheres)
WoL - Protectga, Divine Cross - BSB - Weapon+30%
Agrias - Shellga, Saint Cross - OSB - TGC RM
Larsa - Wrath, Entrust - BSB - Dr Mog
RW Wall, Magicite Enkidu

Beatrix and Agrias had +40% Holy equips, WoL had +20%. Also, Beatrix armor was strong enough to get 4 hits Guardbringers with Wall, Protectga and burst mode.
Larsa gives the first bar to Beatrix, who opens with her BSB. Beatrix needs to doublecast the Guardbringer, so it's a 65% chance to S/L at the 10:50 mark.
After that, it's a dps rush, while praying that Larsa and Enkidu can keep the damage dealers alive. Even then, I'm at the mercy of rng, to get some doublecasts, and not too many of Shadow Dragon's deadlier AoEs.

I'll have to start looking for a build that works without relying on this kind of RNG luck, but for now, it's a start. After I get Raines to 99 (picked his BSB from the gem banner), things might get easier. Might be more reliable to find a build that can just deal with losing a character.

I have most of the mythril relics too. I picked Sarah, because I have no I medica, and the bard access on a healer could be handy.

Unless you have lots of Faithgas already, I suggest you at least consider Yuna BSB2.

Usually just one LD a month, but with an extra 3 around fests. So that's an average of two per month.

I also fully expect a surprise 6* LD on Black Friday, but there's no real evidence that points towards it yet. I just got a feeling.

Not exactly great, by USB standards. High Retaliate is only a minor upgrade over regular Retaliate. But if you like Gilgamesh, it's not like it's the worst relic ever. Just nowhere near the top USBs like Cloud, Bartz, Terra, Tidus, etc.

Shadow USB is bonkers against a dark-weak boss who doesn't use any physical attacks.

I think I'll farm some Holy magicites before I even attempt Shadow Dragon. That guy scares me.

They are a significant increase to a character's power level.

However, that increase only really seems to be necessary if you're trying for Sub 30 magicites. I mastered all currently available magicites before legend diving anyone (except Tyro whom I didn't even use there).
Our weekly events are not hard enough to require 5* motes.

Hell, after lots of retries, and re-arranging accessories, Magicites, and RM, I managed to down Hydra in 29:30 with a party with no 5* mote investments. It was ridiculously close, and the next 10 could very easily all end in failure, but I succeeded.

Ashe BSB isn't the top tier lightning BSB it once was, but it's still fine. Not to mention the Lightning+ armor.
I may not like Vaan, but the BSB is so powerful, that I'm glad to finally have it.
Auron BSB is nothing special.
Tiny Bee is 10 more mind for my favorite character.
Shantotto USB may be pretty crappy, but I've wanted a versatile 6* mage stick (Hope's thrown doesn't count) for so long now.
Tidus USB is supposedly the best new relic in the entire fest.

none of these seem very good except Larsa and maybe Sazh

I can vouch for both of these. The Status Blink for Larsa is super helpful in some fights.
As for Sazh, I don't know how you're doing with magicites, but the buff followed by two instant casts makes him my favorite entruster.

Other than those two, a Faithga on a healer BSB (Aphmau) is great for mage teams. The rest is pretty unspectacular.
