Sure it wasn't remotely a convincing victory in the end, but I really didn't expect Nico's Theme to even come close to winning that match given how thoroughly Long Way Down was crushed, much less open with a 10-0 lead. |

Scrap I/O is super good too, and while I'm siding with Ar-ciel now, I'm prepared to vote for Zenith over basically everything else left on the first half of bracket b now. Probably. Oh yeah, and match 2 unexpectedly also delivered. New World Order is still surprisingly great, and A Beautiful Song grew on me a lot since round 1. Only match that I can say I easily picked today was the first one, and even then, I'd also be fine with seeing Scrap I/O advance. Tie (barely) > 1 (barely) > 2 Re: Poll. Nothing beats that instrumentation/pace to me as far as falcom music goes. Can't even decide on a favorite but that version of Tower of the Shadow of Death used to be my favorite falcom song (maybe still is). Termination, Ice Ridge of Noltia and Palace are up there too. Probably more I don't remember, I used to really be into that version of that ost and I'd still support most of it if it were in a contest today^5 |

Pretty damn solid match there, it's a shame that neither look prepared to win next round. In my favourites bracket, I took Undertale here without too much thought. But I'm just really feeling Kaze no Ne today. Damn close though, I really love Undertale (the song) Mission 3 is weaker than all the songs in the main bracket today, but gets the easiest matchup by far. I think I've finally managed to actually warm up to mario galaxy music for the first time in... some time. It's unfortunate it drew a pretty good nekomata master song here because I was pretty tempted to pick it when I was listening to it. Continental Gale owns and I really wouldnt mind seeing it go further, but I also just love Melodies of Life. Tough choice. Overall excellent day, not a single song I didn't enjoy. Side > 1 = 2 |

Kind of the complete opposite to Fukushima Gainax's other show from this season, Piano no Mori. |

Spiral of Erebos is unexpectedly really solid. I don't recall if I mentioned this in R1 or not, but it somehow reminds me of some royalty free music I heard in a game once but better. Which admittedly is a bit of an unfair reason to like it, but hey. In any case, it has the misfortune of running into Mystic Pendulum of all things right after losing my vote to a super good PMD song, so it looks like I don't even have to worry about it getting an unfair vote from me any time soon. Heavenly Flight is oddly refreshing as far as songs in this contest go, filling a niche it didn't actually occur to me that we were missing. TLGWMEP is too short. I really don't want to talk about the last match at all, but I will say that Homecoming Hijinx is a pretty damn good song. |

I'm really not a fan of either of the two non-Sayonara Blue Reflection songs and I'm amazed I'm voting for Albireo Lake here. PSO2's soundtrack is amazing... And HITSUGI isn't exactly a standout track in it. Still, I didn't expect to take NWO over it even then, so it has to be said that NWO did in fact exceed my expectations. ... no comment on that side match. |

That said, it's up against End of All. >Remixing an existing touhou song to sound like a touhou song. Could've picked a song from basically any fangame and that's what gets in? I really don't care for the Bullet Heaven series or its soundtrack at all, and Count of Darkness is no exception. That said, Swamps is a surprisingly weak song considering how solid the Smurfs GB soundtrack is in general. |

Spear of Justice doesn't compare against Battle Against a True Hero, while Glass is the weakest of the mozell songs in tbh. Second match is the easiest, as Cloudscapes and Speed is the worst song today by far. Meanwhile, I like Twilight of the Gods more than Id, but a bit less than End of All. Dark Prison is okay but there are definitely better SRW songs. Obstacles is nice. The poll needs more Okosan. |

While I knew I liked it, I didn't expect to actually take the Mushihimesama song here, but Fateful Confrontation isn't anywhere near as good as I remembered. Also easy. Damn The Queen of Soldier rules. We need more of these kinds of songs in VGMCs. (Also Yoru's incredibly good too, and it's purely a testament to TQoS' quality that it's the only vocal song I'm not voting for in R1 of the side bracket Side > 2 > 1 |
