If you guys want a cheap and fun oonga boonga deck, I highly recommend joining the Crusade! Here's my current list

The only thing necessary in the Extra Deck are the 2 Equimax, 2 Magius and 2 Regulex. Dugares is great, especially if you open Parallel Exceed, in case you don't draw/search Maximus. Rafflesia is hand trap protection and the 2000 burn helps get the WAN PAWNCH easier.

8 Kaijus aren't necessary. You can/should run 6-9 depending on preference. The Interrupted Kaiju Slumber isn't necessary either but it's great as a board wipe or baiting Ash.

Yeah. I swear people surrender out of shame sometimes. I generally like going second as a lot of my decks call for it and I can't tell you the number of times I brick so badly only for my opponent to surrender out of nowhere lol

I went to target some years back to buy my white elephant gifts and it was one of those books with a topless cowboy on the cover, a cucumber, scented lotion and tissues lol

That's fine. If people are testing there is a higher probability that they will make misplays or suboptimal plays. People will also be more likely to run suboptimal builds. There should definitely be an unranked mode for people to test decks, whether meta or not.

I agree about needing an unranked mode. Just trying to warn Ace that it won't be completely devoid of meta decks I'd imagine.

Yeah Eldlich is pretty budget which is why a lot of players gravitate to it.

That's a legitimate complaint about MD. They really should implement an unranked mode so people can play casually or test out new decks. I really hope that add that feature soon.

The only thing is I can see players still enter unranked to grief or to test the meta decks because they don't have a hang of it yet

the entire game is so focused on OTKOs and its just borring sitting there for 5 minutes as your foe goes through tons of summonings where you cant keept rack of effects

I hate to say but I guess maybe the game isn't for you then? We gave you legitimate answers. Shelving out space for 3-6 cards is required if you want to compete against these 10 minute combo decks. Just because these 3-6 cards make the decks feel "samey" doesn't mean it compromises the true strategy of your deck.

This isn't meant to flame you btw. It's just something we've all heard of millions of times from yugiboomers made worse by MD coming out. Either you adapt, or keep complaining and maybe quit.

It's called Nibiru.

A lot of the meta decks are combo based and have an advantage because MD is best of 1 so you can't side in Nibirus, Effect Veilers, Droll & Lock, etc.

Eldlich is kinda the exception but that's where you side in backrow hate that you normally wouldn't play.

I think Legacy of the Duelist was better. Like this game looks and sounds better feels better. But being free-to-play fucking ruins it. Everyone is playing some top-tier meta deck online. Because that's what everyone use their gems to get and then everyone hits a gem wall so that's it for deck building. At least Legacy of the Duelist I can get all the cards I need for whatever deck without having to spend money. There's room to experiment

There's tons of offmeta stuff up to Plat 5 (entry) tho. I'd say it's a 2:1 Offmeta to meta deck that I've faced on that road. And the game hasn't been out for a month yet. Of course people are gonna wanna build the top stuff with the limited amount of gems. We haven't even gotten our first events yet lol.

Anyways, my dream with these topics was to get a community to deck test with each other using Offmeta stuff. Hell, if you join the MD discord I'm sure plenty of offmeta people will wanna play. Does it have extra steps rather than just automathmaking? Sure. But at least we have the option.

Honestly if yall ever wanna try a deck, just play it on mobile. If you get bored or get a bad reroll, just clear app storage if you're on Android or delete and reinstall on Apple. Yes it's a 2gb download each time but you get to try so many decks like I have lol

I ended up making that Shiranui Eldlich deck (that I mentioned on the last page of this topic) on my side account, my third deck based around Gold Daddy Eldlich. I think I'm having way too much fun with him and all of his traps.

I think you are right. Im a lot more into this than I thought I would be. And i knew if I started playing it would be hard to stop! But Im one of the people that likes how the board state can go crazy and you have think deeper on how to protect yourself and get through the other side.

Lol it is definitely addicting. And I'm just glad you're enjoying it despite the frustrating factors it can have. Yes most of the time the game isn't the back and forth chess matches it used to be, but trying to dissect a board like an elaborate ever changing puzzle and coming out advantageous gives a feeling of elation and "got damn I must be an intellectual!!" that a lot of things can't give us lol

No problem haha. Honestly I highly recommend joining the MD discord. They have channels for just about every archetype and you can ask/learn a lot of things about them. Especially combos or decklists.

Would you mind telling me some more? I kinda yolo built it. Most of the times I have beat the deck it took a lot of resources to finally thin the Dragonmaid deck to have no answer. Which is what made me want to play it. And was lucky enough to get 2 house and Sheou to make the deck work correctly.

Grrr Now I want Masquerena. But she isnt critical to the gameplan.
