Oh, so we're ripping sensible thinking and not letting emotions cater your opinions into mindless fanaticsm for one side? How cute of you to mock folks who are against mindless hatred towards a political party.
You have a very stupid idea of what American centrism actually is and what it enables.

people should be more mad at the alt-right for ruining symbols with their trolling tbh
Getting mad at the right isn't being a good little centrist though. You have to coddle the rightwing, stroke it gently, lovingly take it into your mouth, and flick your tongue across it ever so lightly or you're just as bad as them. Maybe even worse.

I honestly don't believe that vegans were clamoring to eat at Burger King. And if they suddenly are now, I'm going to question why the hell they are vegan in the first place.

The vegan response to Impossible Burger and the company in general is all over the place. Most vegans are not lifelong vegans, so there are those who may still enjoy the taste of meat or miss the socialization and convenience aspects of animal based foods, especially fast food. Then there are those who are grossed out by anything meat-like and refuse to eat it. There are those who don't like the company. There are those who are health conscious and won't eat it. There are some who don't think that plant foods resembling animal flesh should be encouraged. The one thing I've seen that most of these people have in common is that they accept it as a good thing for the animals, and some detractors are planning to buy it just to let BK and other restaurants know there is a demand for plant-based foods.

But aside from all that, Impossible Foods has consistently sent the message that vegans are not their target demographic and that they intend to capture the "flexitarian" crowd and others who are taking half-measures for a variety of reasons. There's controversy about their heme ingredient being tested on animals, they serve their products with dairy at conventions then lied about it to avoid a scandal (but got one anyway), and one of the executives or some other bigwig commented in an interview (in response to said scandal) that they have to think about the total market and not just the relatively small market of strict vegans.

I might try one but I found that BK stopped being passably decent long before I ever stopped eating meat, so I won't be going out of my way to get it.
