I would just say that I never found myself invested in my character's story, just everyone else's. I was invested in other people's stories, and reading the descriptions of the excellent lore was great. But even though I am "The Chosen Undead" it never felt like my story. The fact that if I don't do it, With DS2 I get to meet Vendrick, I get to connect with Alsanna, I get to explore the fallen Kingdoms, and Aldia feels like he's telling me enough to give me a choice, unlike the serpents leading me. People complain about unfair enemy placement but after your first initial run-in got you killed, I found it pretty easy to figure out how to get past enemies. Some parts of the DLC are straight up trash, though. Other than that, I can't think of anything that was too bad about DS2. Some of the hitboxes WERE wonky, but it was only a handful. | SkyUmbreon 02/12/22 2:23:03 PM #1 | Certainly there is some unfair bullshit in there but I found most of the game manageable with a little bit of thinking BUT I found the story of DS2 infinitely more compelling because it revolved around humans and I found it much more of a human story/drama than DS1 Also, while some people hate the inconsistency of the geography of DS2, I was able to look past it because I already got over all my issues with the existence of the Great Hollow/Ash Lake in DS1 I found the actual areas of DS2 to be quite stunning in visage and internally consistent (except the Aldia mansion/Dragon Aerie and Earthen Peak/Iron Keep, which were admittedly pretty bad). Among Thieves has a better antagonist, gameplay and set pieces, and has multiplayer, but for story, dialogue, setting, and replay value, Drake's Fortune is better. The gameplay jump between U1 and U2 trumps any story beats. What happens is exactly what Bobby told Tony would happen and what Tony did a flashback to the prior episode. The Members Jacket is a callback to Tony and Chris having Eugene execute someone in a diner the way he's about to be capped. The dude who kills him re-enacts Tony's favorite Godfather scene. Tony is shot from 3 o'clock which is the warning Mikey Palmice gave to Chris to pass to Tony when Chris saw Mikey in hell during his coma. Tony being whacked in front of his family mirrors him whacking Phil in front of his family. The last thing Tony sees is Meadow, arguably the only person Tony loved unconditionally. It's basically Phil's death but from Tony's own POV. There's nothing lackluster about it. If you want to go even deeper into pure fanon, there's arguments about Meadow being Tony's guardian angel arriving too late for the first time, and about the weird edit of Tony walking into the diner and seeing himself already seated as a callback to Chris telling Tony that in hell, you just see yourself dying over and over again, meaning Tony is already dead and we're watching him relive it. --- El Psy Congroo 3DS FC: 3952-7469-6840 |

I got really into the Chalice Dungeons which I think hurt my experience with the game since somewhere around the Ebrietas fight it became kind of easy, with only Orphan of Kos being a challenge because I had gotten so many Echoes clearing a Chalice Dungeon between each main-game area Anyway, I used a guide to get to Undead Burg but I think I'm gonna go completely blind from hereon out and see where the game takes me. I kind of have a feel for the mechanics though having a useful shield and it being slower is definitely a departure from Bloodborne. I look it at it like "do you expect me to click on that????" So I just text back "Like I said, wrong number" and blocked the number. If you're a real person, get some help/self-esteem.
