Chapter 7 and 8 are crazy s***, jesus. Just as I was getting sad that the game was starting to slog after the excellent first three chapters.

I'm confused because chapter 7-8 are where the game really start to slog since all the good sidequests become unavailable

Fair warning, in tantal you will be given a destination to get to in "three hours" and if you are like me you will hate the fictional time limit and go try to finish it.

Keep in mind, after this you will be locked out of character quests and most heart to hearts for about 20 hours.

Also, huge mechanic spoiler that I recommended knowing now:

rex will be able to use every blade so don't pull with him too often

I really honestly don't mind the core system in this game, I've gotten all my rare blades in the process of looking for commons (for things like dark mastery)

but I honestly can't stand why they constantly show the silhouettes for rare blades before the common third blade. It doesn't seem to have any point other than to piss off the player, since you can already see all the silhouettes of all the blades in the guide.

I hope everyone is remembering to equip luck items before they activate cores!

You can also use a certain core chip to add 50 to your luck per blade

did all that and got 3 rares with 10 common cores

Also really cool that Celebi is now going to be catchable in-game, so any future Celebi events are pretty much going to be pointless unless they do like a "once per system" type deal or something.

I couldn't field skill through without boreas' affinity boost so it was kind of a catch 22

If you're wondering if it is worth it to pay 100,000. (99,990) to unlock boreas' affinity chart, it is. It really really is.

Maxed out his full affinity chart in about a half hour and raised the rank of two towns in the process

Now that I have more rare blades than can fit on all my characters I have started using common blades a lot more. Theyre pretty useful for field skills and its easy to grind them up quickly. They make collecting a lot more fun too.
