How do you get "trolling" from that?
Or are you denying that words have meaning and power, the existence of media bias in victims, etc etc?

Deflected from what subject?
I don't think I've ever argued that it wasn't horrid.

I just find it strange that many of you are insisting this was shocking.

We have similar issues of selective victim attention occurring in the media, as well, And different people have offered various explanations for the phenomenon.

Just curious what your reasons are (and wondering how closely they match with the explanations given for the occurrance in popular news media).

If you want to claim all sexual assaults are horrible, then I don't think you'll find very many people disagreeing with you.

But what makes this more shocking than others?

I mean, we live in a world with child rape, trafficking, slavery, etc etc.
Or, that example one of the posters posted about the mob.

Compared to those, not really shocking.
Horrible, yes, but not shocking.

Ok, tell me, why was this particularly shocking?

Was it horrible, sure?
But compared to various sexual crime that happens in the US (or other parts of the world... or even in HK), this isn't one of the more shocking ones.

The only reason some people say it was "shocking" is because it involved someone famous or known to them. Otherwise, as a crime, it's not one of the more shocking ones.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/careers/diversity-ditching-is-becoming-a-trend-in-companies/ar-AA1f9fuN

I guess this is the article.

First, the poll itself is a suspect

A poll conducted on The Muse indicated that sixty percent of people claim to have noticed their organizations retreating from diversity commitments. More than a third of users said that their employer put a strong emphasis on diversity during the initial job interview, and then failed to produce any significant DEI efforts upon being hired. It's important to note that the poll is not an accurate portrayal of the U.S. population, as the majority of participants were non-white, 65% were women and 53% were millennials and Gen Z.

Have to say, it has a pretty BS conclusion.

Minshew maintains that diversity is a make-or-break factor for most people when it comes to accepting a job offer, saying, I don't think that the job seeker pool is going to care less about [diversity].

Let's be honest.
The biggest factor is pay.
That's the make-or-break factor for most people.

Throughout the trial, prosecutors argued that the Church of Scientology had helped cover up the assaults - an allegation the organisation has categorically denied.
At the time of the attacks, Masterson and all three of his accusers were Scientologists. Several of the women said it took them years to come forward because Church of Scientology officials discouraged them from reporting the rape to police.

Scientology officials told one survivor she would lose her membership of the community unless she signed a non-disclosure agreement and accepted a payment of $400,000 (320,000), according to prosecutors.

During the trial, Judge Olmedo allowed both sides to discuss the dogma and practices of Scientology, angering the organisation.

In its statement after the verdict in May, the Church of Scientology said there was "not a scintilla of evidence supporting the scandalous allegations that the Church harassed the accusers".

Sort of wondering if prosecutors in California will ever go after the organization.
