do you believe its necessary to set this up? i don't have a cell phone that is technically mine so to speak, but i hear there are other ways of setting up 2 step. i use a chromebook for my gmail and try to keep a low profile online. one of the ways i heard is you can have 10 codes sent to you, what would happen if i run out of them and cant log back in after the 10th one? was thinking of trying this route, don't have a printer but was thinking of writing down the codes, confused with how it all works lol.

i did have a yahoo account hacked years ago, then the person set up security questions so i couldn't get back in so that makes me nervous with my gmail if it did get hacked and someone set up 2 step so i couldn't get back it, i heard there is no way to contact google to resolve matters either and i have everything on my gmail account.

oh so nothing to worry about? yeah i walked in and some lady was warning about weather while it was in sleep mode, which its raining pretty heavy. there was a notification for it, but it was definitely a first. it surprised me. anyway to block it?

i walked in my room where my phone was and it was being audible about a weather warning. never happened before. just not sure if that is normal. worried its some kind of malware which is unlikely, i did scans and everything afterwards to make sure.

emails like aol? i'm thinking about deleting my aol email, not sure how you go about it but have had gmail for a few years now. i've transferred most accounts over that i can think of, but what be worried if i forgot anything if i deleted it permanently.

i just did this last month as well for the first time, reaching 101% on my N64. congratulations.

i must have got lucky on the rabbit race, but yeah... those beetle races and many mini-games, especially the beaver bother ones ugh.

But the sender account is clearly fake it's like "[email protected]"

this was by a sender with a phone number in my area code.

yeah earlier i got nervous as i check my aol out of habit and in the spam folder it said one that my aol account would be deleted in 3 days, weird sender though.

i just hope i didn't alert them by opening the message itself on the phone.

anything to worry about, i get highly paranoid about this stuff.

i never got a spam text before, i opened it but didn't click anything so i can block it. it said i joined the chat, anything to be worried about? i blocked it right after, it had a link but didn't click it. sorry this is new to me as i never got phone spam before.

i google searched and a lot of sites say at least once every 3 months. i don't have access to 2 step accounts personally so the answers may vary.

i can say my family: mom and younger siblings have admitted that they never change their passwords, i think when my grand mother was alive she didn't either.

i have changed some pretty frequently, but there are some that have been a little over 3 months already, some of which that might be even as long as 3 years.

gmail ones are a bit more complicated when using a chromebook as far as i've noticed. when you change it its not recognized as the new password until you unsync passwords and then restart the system. so i'm a bit hesitant. then its called a new device when you sign back in for some reason. at least that's how it was on my older chromebook, not sure about this newer one.

i checked my aol email and i clicked unsubscribe for something and when it took me to the page the address bar looked really unsafe. i exited out but i think it was spam that got in the inbox. i use a chromebook so want to make sure i am safe. i don't use my aol email anymore for main emails but i check it here and there. just worried i might have caused some irreversible damage by opening that link, i didn't end up unsubscribing, but just ended up blocking the address all together.

was getting some server thing and to try reloading, i haven't seen any topics so was wondering if it was just on my end.

on amazon? have had quite the pain in my arches since my teens, and for over a decade its never went away. i get rare times where the pain disappears for a week or two and think i'm going to get better than it always comes back and lasts.

basic stuff like standing and moving are miserable. i wish i could run on a treadmill but those days seem to be over because the pain intensifies with any kind of activity to an enormous level of pain long term.

it seems like surgery is the most recommended thing for tarsal coalition but i cant do that. it all depends on age i believe the kind of surgery you can get but, one of them i read can keep you off your feet for half a year, and its far from guaranteed you'll find relief anyways. so my only hope is the inner soles.

if anyone has had this, or something similar with severe arch pain and has something to recommend please do, thank you.

the only way you can get your stuff stolen is if you let it. if you ever have an email telling you to go sign in an account for something crazy then do it manually yourself. don't click any links, don't copy a link and paste it, go to the website yourself by typing it in and then see if anything actually has an issue

would you say out of all the years i've had this particular gmail account, if only this UPS marketing account were my only spam that i have nothing to worry about? i've had nothing else in the spam folder besides this. i don't want to go through the process of transferring everything over to a new email but even if its my nintendo account only i will. i have another gmail but that one is on the phone i use, i keep my main gmail on my chromebook and my side one on phone.

i want to relax mentally, god i cant wait until my next medication appointment as i started on a new medication and may need an upgrade.

receives even one spam/phishing email, should you switch everything over to a new email? all your accounts and everything? i rather not go through the hours of hassle, as i have transferred from an aol account to my gmail one slowly but surely for the most part and its a lot of work and time.

well, i received my first gmail spam from UPS the other day and i'm just worried if i'm going to have to do it all over again. all the time needed to transfer everything, tell people of new address, ect.

just worried i will get hacked and lose my gaming accounts, some people praise digital but you also got to think you also got to keep the email associated to it safe as well.

i have been receiving emails from them for two years it seems, but the latest one ended up in spam. their emails seem to be nothing but marketing for UPS. The header for them all is UPS My Choice. i turned off receive marketing emails from UPS so if i get them again then i'd know its actual spam.

as a very paranoid person i'm wondering if i should transfer all of my accounts to a new email but that would be a very tedious endeavor.

checking all my past UPS emails they have been from the upsemail.com address.

spam. the address checks out, just like all UPS message senders it says [email protected].

no other weird characters or anything, so just making sure its not spam, i know my old aol email gets loaded with spam to this date so i worry if i get spam of any kind if i should create a new gmail and transfer everything which i don't want to do.

i've had my gmail for years and never got any spam on it so wondering if this is anything to worry about, i mean the email sender checks out in comparison to other UPS emails i've received.

i've never been diagnosed with bipolar, do have asperger's and some mood instabilities. i started this medication about two weeks ago, and got an increase.

i noticed the first two days my anxiety and my alcohol cravings went down but, ever since even after the increase its been pretty high the anxiety and alcohol cravings.

i just wanted to ask, if i gave it the time needed would the medication be more effective? each day i give up mid day and buy more alcohol. if the medication can help and i suffer through until that point i will force myself to stop.

i currently take 4 medications and shouldn't be drinking anyways, cymbalta, rispiridone, burspirone, and now depakote. i especially noticed since starting this medication that i don't enjoy drinking at all. i don't put time into hobbies anymore because i'm too tired and shitty feeling. i just hope that soon i start feeling better after fully giving up the alcohol and focus on giving this new medication the time it takes to work.

AVG is a legit program. I use malware bytes and have a premium sub. It works on all my devices.

You may want to try to save what data you want or need and do a factory reset on the phone. I know that's a hassle but I wouldn't know what else to suggest if it isn't malware.

just performed a malwarebytes scan for the heck of it too and nothing showed up. these incidents occurred early afternoon and late at night yesterday. so far nothing today, today i cleared data and cache from google chrome and it hasn't happened yet. seems like since i've did that the phone has been a bit speedier as well.

i rather not use chrome on android because there are ads everywhere and you cant use ublock origin, i use a mixture of brave and chrome. on my chromebook i use chrome however only and have been fine with it because you can use ublock on it.

anyways if it was something, is it possible it could hack into my account or anything like that? that's been my top concern. its not my main google account, but i have some accounts tied to it that i cant on my main google account, i don't use my main google account on the phone, only on the chromebook but, like i said have some accounts tied to this particular account and have both google accounts as each other's recovery emails as well.

You might have a malicious ad malware on your phone. Get a malware app and do a scan. One time on my android I got one and it would pop ads on up on my browser and ad notifications on my phone.

after reading your post i downloaded one called AVG, nothing showed up. would you recommend this one?

i've been very paranoid about it, could it be something bad? i don't know or think its a scam app as i don't download apps very often. i did clear cache and storage, i hope that clears the issue not sure how it could happen. can my account/phone get hacked from this? what more should i do, if anything looking for advice.

that's when it actually seemed to happen. seemed kinda slow yesterday so i restarted it, later left and it did that.

happened during a car ride yesterday, i popped it out of sleep mode and a video and tab were randomly opened on chrome playing a video for that new mario sports game and was playing the video even without chrome opened. never happened before, same thing last night with a couple of tabs open for some diablo game that i never searched or opened started playing.

anyway to stop this? when i scan device it seems fine and also no odd devices on my account either. so not sure whats going on and if its a big concern. thank you.

oh god no. i've done it a few times and it makes my paranoia go to the max intense. for some reason it makes me throw up as well, just a really horrible feeling.

i think as much as i like coffee, that i should really lighten up on it. sometimes i wonder if its causing my medications not to work properly. sometimes i feel great with it, other times i feel like i'm freaking out. probably be better to drop it since i have intense anxiety issues already.

there is one she recommends that i do on and off, and even if i'm doing it for up to 10 minutes i still feel the waves of anxiety. its when you inhale for 4 seconds, hold it in for 4 seconds, and exhale through your mouth for 6.

i'm also open to this as well.

i have asperger's so obsessive thoughts, anxiety, and depression are usually always high. i keep thinking cause of all the internet mistakes i made as a kid, just simply not knowing that one day all my accounts will be stolen. i cant 2 step verify anything as i don't have my own cell phone.

i wash my hands constantly to keep anything off of them when gaming to not break or fill the buttons with gunk.

i take anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, and anxiety medication and still cant shake anxiety and almost all day consuming paranoia thoughts. therapist relieving tips don't help either.

i've heard somethings about meditation but don't know much about going on about it, i think i understand basics like closing your eyes and trying to blank out thoughts, but not sure if there are other methods to it that make it a recommendation.

also, if anyone has any ideas for anxiety/paranoia besides other than meditation is welcome as well.

what time do the polls start if it were eastern time zone i wonder? its possible last night i 'could have' and didn't give it much thought, but i still doubt that. i went to bed at 11 something, PM. not sure which time zone the poll starts at i always assumed it was midnight in my time zone it did, but could be wrong.

just checked too, no device other than mine has been on my account. i didn't know gamefaqs had a section for that. i don't check the settings very often and there's quite a bit there, did change my password to be safe.

either i did vote in today's poll and just somehow absolutely don't remember it, or some kind of glitch.

it said i already voted. some kind of glitch? first time that's ever happened.

Honestly literally all you can do is self control. If you can afford therapy that's great. But you really need to just NOT go to the store. It's not easy to do but it is what it is. The longer you go not drinking the less you'll think about it. But it took me 2 years before all those thoughts left. So it's a long process.

Like you say it's almost an unconscious process when you go to the store. When you notice yourself on the bike turn around. You have to make that choice.

i have a therapist but we've never discussed the drinking, talked about it a bit with my medication provider as she asked. what do you think the therapist would say if i brought it up? like what kind of strategies do you think she would recommend that might make the self-control process a bit easier to handle?

Not drinking when you're an addict or problematic drinker takes 110% self control. It's not easy. There's no easy method. You literally just have to force yourself and will yourself to not drink.

definitely addicted i believe. when i feel like shit after drinking, the next day like today i feel like drinking again. sometimes i'll resist a day or two which is hard, then something just snaps and i'm riding my bike to the store. its almost like i'm hypnotized or something, like it just happens.

usually on the first drink i tell myself, tonight will be an easier going night with drinking, not going to go all out. then most of the time i end up blacking out.

i also say a lot that it will be the last time for awhile, then i go back the next day or couple days. if i had income i would probably keep drinking, but i cant afford it, its $8 every time and the money i have, is all i have at the moment. i have asperger's and never had a job, but keep thinking i want to get one to support the habit.

i cant afford it very well right now, but regardless i keep making trips to the store. i have quit on my own once before for a year and a half, i remember the first month being pretty tough but managed.

its been getting out of hand lately though and feel like this time could be harder. i want to drink, but i don't. i guess because i feel generally lousy when i don't drink, depressed and anxious that makes me do it, but after i feel even worst, like today just wishing i didn't do it.

the few times I've used Chrome O/S I've not had that specifically. it could make sense if you were doing something that required confirmation, like changing an important setting, etc. another possibility is that you're somehow inadvertently invoking a logout or lock function.

the one issue I did have was keeping the screen on during inactivity. there was a chrome extension that worked for this.

for some reason it seems like it happens when i'm using two fingers to swipe on the mouse. that's when it happened last time, and feel it did at least on another occasion. really strange.

i shouldn't need to have to login back in is what i'm saying. i'll be using the device searching something then randomly a login prompt appears in a box where i have to enter the password to log back in. just so weird and random, not sure if google does random login verification's or something.

the only time i should have to login is when i'm turning on the device, or having it restart from an update, just strangely has me log back in, in the middle of a random session. which makes me paranoid if someones trying to hack my account, but every time i search through account usage its been all me. :/

wondering if its something to worry about, there's no suspicious activity on my account but randomly sometimes when in use chromebook will have me log back in. i immediately change the password after, not sure why this does this. this has been happening i believe since december of last year.

i know i have to start using a new chromebook by june due to the AUE, so hopefully when i upgrade this will stop as it makes me very paranoid that someones trying to get on my account, but all activity is mine so its doubtful.

i have heavy depression for years, and consume a lot of coffee, like 2-3 pots worth per day with 12 cups each. basically my medication provider told me that no medication is going to make me feel better in terms of my anxiety and depression which has made me feel worst. i have asperger's.

anyhow i know coffee is often linked to improving depression, but can it also do the opposite? i notice it has no benefits for me, doesn't improve depression, which is why i continue to drink it cause every now and then i'll feel really good, like a high euphoric feeling and wondering if its from the coffee, but likely not since most days i feel shitty.

thinking about cutting it out entirely, anxiety and paranoia reaches insane heights as it is, and sometimes the coffee makes it 100x worst. thinking it just does no good for me, and wonder if i might feel better if i stop, as i'm wondering if the heavy consumption can be making things worst.

Sounds like a bug on Spotify's part, I doubt it's anything harmful. Maybe some songs got removed and Spotify uses those junk values as placeholders?

In any case, are there songs missing from your playlist perhaps? If it doesn't affect you I would just ignore it. I guess you could bring it up with their support system if you want to bring awareness to the issue.

thank you for your response, i am glad for your post as i have been so paranoid. there isn't anything where a hacker can add a playlist to your account that can damage your system or hack accounts right? that was the first thing i thought as bogus as it sounds, just never know so feeling nervous when i thought of that lol.

not sure if its anything to worry about, like not sure if its possible for someone to hack an empty play list to your account that you cant delete that does something to your system, or if i'm being over paranoid. its doubtful but just want to make sure if anyone has heard of anything like this before. :/

there's a playlist with a string of numbers and letters with no content in it, not sure how to remove it. i am using desktop version, not sure what this is, if its something to be worried about.
