No, it is not. Obviously we shouldn't outright attack them for no reason or anything, but we should hold them accountable for their actions.

It is evil and wrong to side with China on their treatment of Hong Kong. If your stance on Hong Kong is "I'm not taking sides," that is immoral. It makes you a bad person even if it's motivated by a (completely misplaced) fear of nuclear war.

That's not a threat in the way you think it is. Even if we declared war against China. Even if we sent aircraft carriers and put a blockade around their ports. Even if we started firing at military targets. Even if we did all this unprovoked. They would not use nukes.

MAD ensures that nobody will. Even somewhere totally insane like North Korea decided to use nukes, they would be completely obliterated before they could use more.
