Correct, Ike Jill, and The Neph were all maxed. And Lethe too. Lethe was a badass.

I also appreciate that Sothe joins at a higher level. If that dude just joined in back from the start I'd be disappointed. Dude helped Ike beat Ashnard. Although, to be fair, I never used him. I completely forgot he existed for about 90% of the game.

It just always seem weird to me that Ashnard conquers Crimea and then just kind of chills there for the rest of the game. The Gallians are worried he might invade, but he never actually does.

Well yeah, he chilled there but If memory serves, while he didn't launch a full scale invasion, Gallia and Daein were in open war and had some fighting going on.

Conquest and Birthright happen at the same time. They follow the result of a choice the protagonist makes. He chooses one way, it goes Conquest, he chooses the other, Birthright. So they are both two separate time lines.

FE7, that's the one with Lyn, right? I gotta get around to playing that one too. Gotta get more Fire Emblem Experience.

I do like what they did with Daein. In PoR, they're a scumbag country full of racists, and it's pleasurable to strike them down. In RD, you can start to feel for Daein, and Begnion wasn't exactly the noble land it was made out to be.

There's actually a surprising amount of subtextual "deeper meaning" in the two Tellius games, and it's by far the best story presented in any Fire Emblem. You've got racism, genocide, and corrupt government agents. You know, for the kids!

Oh hell yeah. It's not what I expected, but I'm liking the direction.

I gotta agree here. I absolutely love the story in Path of Radiance, I love the world building, I love that the countries aren't exactly what you think, and I love that it touches on a lot of darker subjects. I think it handled it all excellent. I loved Awakening and Fates, but as far as story and characters go, Path of Radiance just blew them out of the water.

Path of Radiance is definitely my second-favorite. Even if Ashnard kind of just inexplicably sits on his hands, it's just a great game with some really cool characters and a protagonist who is both likeable and unique(in not being a noble) in Ike.
My feelings on Radiant Dawn are much more mixed, but I'm still firm in believing that it's a good game. Just a flawed one.

Well, I mean that was kind of Ashnard's philosophy, wasn't it? He was the big man, he wanted to see what happens with them, if they made it to him, great, he'll bring them down, if they beat him, that falls in line with his philosophy and in the end, is what he wanted, right?

Begnion really turned into a bunch of jerks didn't they? I hope Crimea is still legit. Also, Micaiah is a good egg. I like her.

Alright, so I started up Radiant Dawn and imported my Path of Radiance save. I went through the Prologue as well.

So I thought I'd be following Ike again. Turns out I'm not. That's fine, Micaiah seems pretty nice, and I really like her character design. Plus she's a mage protagonist. I don't think that's common in Fire Emblem. At least to my limited knowledge.

So Begnion are the bad guys now? I didn't particularly like them much anyway. Well, except Sigrun. I really liked Sigrun. And we're playing as a group of Daein Freedom Fighters? Not exactly where I thought the story would go, but I can roll with it. Here's hoping my girl Jill shows up soon, as I think she went back to Daein.

I'm surprised Titania ended up in first. She carried me a lot in the beginning, but as the game went on, I used her less and less. I expected Ike or Jill in 1st.

That's game. Credits are rolling. I think this might be my favorite Fire Emblem game that I've played. Absolutely loved it. Ike is a badass protagonist. I really like that he isn't a legit Lord. Dude is just a mercenary. I love it. I really like the world it set up. It was just overall great.

Did that Begnion guy who's name I can't remember, Sephiran? I think? Threaten Ike after he walked away? That sounded ominous.

I'm a little sad I never got to see who was under the Black Knight's armor. Probably wouldn't be anyone I know, but still I kind of want a face to go with it. Kind of the same deal with Bertram. What the hell was his deal?

As Ike was talking to all the party members and important people, I forgot quite a few even existed, such as, Mia, Boyd, and Sothe.

Jill is best girl. Honorable Mentions go to, The Neph, Lucia, and Titania. Petrine too.

Naesala best guy.

I look forward to seeing where the story goes after this, I'm hyped for Radiant Dawn.

Only thing you can do it try and trick ashnard to the fountain.

Got to go with the kings shadow. Crow is worthless phase two and the raven won't do nearly enough to merit the healing he'll need. And then you'll get to a stalemate you ultimately lose because ike can't attack or he will die during ashnard's turn as healing wanes.

Yeah, I went with my man Naesala. Dude is one of my favorite characters in this game, I had to pick him. I had too. But I'll grab the Not King this time.

Also, you weren't kidding about The Raven King not being able do much. Is very sad, dude is still awesome though.

...Or not. Ashnard phase 2 pretty much stomped. Heal and Run didn't work, neither Elincia or Mist could escape Ashnard's range after healing all that damage Psycho Ashnard dishes out. Then boom, one shot Mist.

Update. Things are going well. Bottom half of the map has been cleared. Jill, Lethe, The Neph, and Nasir have all been sent to a corner, Ike is advancing, Mist and Elincia are at a distance, but can move in for the heals if necessary. I have a good feeling about this round.

I was a little too confident in The Neph. Unfortunately, she was unable to bring down a dragon. My bad.

Alright, back in. Have Ike, healers, and I brought Jill, Lethe, and The Neph as backup.

That's fair, I suppose. Was just trying to follow the given strategy.

And that's three. Where is Vaas to tell me the definition of insanity when I need him?

It's not Ashnard this time. There is just just too many enemies rushing when there is no safe place for the healers.

So right here, we got two Laguz who rush in, unless Ike Aethers both of them, Mist dies.



When Ike can Aether both of them, we got Paladins on one side and a bunch of other peeps on the other all running in. As they run in, there is no safe spot for the healers. They're always in range.

Failed out again. I got peeps rushing in from all sides, how is Ike supposed to kill everything without the healers dying? There is no way to keep them out of range of enemies.

Failed out pretty quick. Every enemy in the area descends on the starting area so fast and immediately focus the healers. Also Nasir can't be removed from the party. I wish they'd attack him instead of Mist. He can take a hit.

An inspiration to us all. So devoted to the cause he panics when he misses.

Alright, jumping back in. This time around, we only use Ike. Let's see how this works.

I feel the opposite. I didn't really care much for Reika. But Kato? Kato was The Man, dude was awesome.

Yeah it went downhill during the 100 point alien arc

The Nurarihyon Arc? That's my favorite story arc in the series. I don't think it went downhill until the actual Alien Invasion.

At the preparation screen, don't send out anybody who can't use either Ragnell or Physic staves. You will be sending way fewer units than the maximum allowed. This is intended, so go ahead and do so.

So, just Ike and healers? I feel like that would backfire.
