Love everything I've heard from Tool so I'm thrilled for this one

I'm alright with indie pixelblob for the most part, though authenticity is the other prevailing issue there. What really gets me are these triple A titles that strive for visual 'realism' and end up being less convincing than an episode of Re:Boot. The 2022 Saints reboot and Cyberpunk (at launch) to name a few. Ugly in the sense of being totally lifeless, weightless.

Yeah, it's probably sacrilege to rank those major hits beside The Girl is Mine. Though given the choice to listen to anything from this album, it sure as hell wouldn't be Billie Jean, which is playing right now on several-hundred radio stations somewhere in the world. I cherish this entire record, and it's earned its spot at the peak of the pop pantheon.

The Girl Is Mine: Gonna echo the general sentiment here; the Michael/Paul collab tracks aren't so great. That said, this is easily the best of them and the back-and-forth at the end is at least charming. It errs more toward being playful rather than cynical, which makes it a solid fit for the album. An album that happens to be stacked with some of the most prevailing pop music ever recorded.

I respect Episode I more than anything else on this list because it's the only one to have profoundly impacted popular culture and gave rise to a ton of excellent content in the expanded universe. Say what you will about The Prequels, but that era had a ton of heart and made for a great time to be a fan.

Episode I: Racer, man. Even if you don't agree with anything else I've said, you can't deny that one is a jam. The arcade cab is even better.

Do you still have GameMaker Studio 2? I'd love to dabble with that.

AH GEEZ totally forgot my actual favorite: Walking in the Air from The Snowman (1982). One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, Christmas or otherwise. Has a great cover by Nightwish!

I always look forward to the Mannheim Steamroller stuff. Some of my earliest memories listening to and loving music come courtesy of A Fresh Aire Christmas.

I've never heard a bad rendition of Carol of the Bells. You'd have to really try to mess that one up.

The Year Without A Santa Claus is Rankin Bass' best special IMO, and so many of its songs stand the test of time. I'd be remiss not to mention the Miser Brothers songs--a creative highlight of the special.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer isn't a bad track on its own, but has a lot of awful variants that get played as much if not more frequently than the Burl Ives recording.

There's this one that's recently come back into circulation, and I wish it hadn't. Goes something like, "I'm a little Christmas tree, oh-ho-ho, ee-hee-hee" and consider yourself blessed if you have no idea what I'm on about. Marshmallow World or whatever is horrible for similar reasons.

DropMix too?! Damn, that game was such a cool novelty, if prohibitively expensive. The thing with mobile games that require physical peripherals is that the game can just be discontinued at any time, leaving you with a tidy paperweight. DropMix had no fanfare though, and Harmonix probably took huge losses both to get those licenses and to have the peripherals built.
