I can be one, but not at "traditional" gambling such as lottery or casino games. My weakness is gacha games. I just blew $200 trying to get a particular character in one such game (I got her anyway, but I kinda regret spending all that money afterward.)

Apologies for yet another Pokemon topic, but I figured since a lot of people are talking about Pokemon right now, I figured to ask.

It is safe to get Pokemon Scarlet/Violet now? What I mean is, have they patched the game such that the bugs and other problems during release are fixed? Just wondering. I may get the game soon after all.

My state, Illinois, fought for the Union.

I play Second Life and IMVU. In those programs it's usually an ongoing process, but me personally it takes maybe 10 minutes give or take to make my avatars looks passable.

In regular games I guess it takes somewhat less. I don't really put in a lot of effort, just find a good hairstyle and clothes and I'm good to go!

I feel like this thread is a joke tbh. Engage is the only game that comes out relatively soon and it's 2 months out the others are 6+ months out... and then you list some mobile games and Fortnite I didn't even know people were still playing Fortnite.

If you're short on money it would be understandable, but you're talking about playing gacha games so... I don't think that is it.

I got no criticism for PSO2 so I just cut it out, it was the part that made me think you might be genuine here.

Well, I intended for the thread to be genuine. Fortnite is actually a pretty fun game, I don't know why it gets criticism. It's not for everyone, but I like it.

Skip it for now, keep playing other games, make the decision in a few months when there's been time for the initial hype/hate to die down and bugs to be patched.

Yes, the new Pokemon games came out. Good reviews or bad, I always get caught up in the hype and when I see people talking about it, that fuels my hype even more. I guess once a Pokemon fan, always a Pokemon fan.

But I heard the games have serious problems associated with them. Another thing, I've been trying to quit the main Pokemon games for personal reasons. And I already have a lot of games on my plate. (I need to finish the current Fortnite battle pass, I have many other games to play like PSO2, Tower of Fantasy, and Nikke, and I'm eagerly awaiting future titles like Fire Emblem Engage, Zelda, and Starfield.)

So now I'm torn on whether I should get Pokemon Scarlet. I made a poll on the Switch board for me to choose between Scarlet/Violet and Engage, and Engage won despite not having come out yet. But the hype still rages inside of me, especially when I come to places like GameFAQs.

Aside from things like video games and computers, my favorites were and still are stuffed animals and figurines.

I'm not really religious in the traditional sense, but somewhat spiritual. So Christmas is more of a secular holiday to me. I don't totally ignore Jesus's role in the holiday, though.

Nearly every meal humans eat at this point is dramatically over-prepared far beyond any actual need or historical experience. Even seasoning in general is mostly pointless now that we have preservatives (at least our ancestors used it to preserve food or cover up the taste of food that had gone bad).

We're literally about the celebrate the holiday of ridiculously overeating in the US - none of this shit makes sense.

You could start by switching to fish and chicken only, and then if you wanted to keep going, continue with an all veg diet.

Pure vegan diet is intense, costly, and basically a complete life style change. Unless it's something that sounds appealing to you I'd consider not jumping right into that.

It's not animal products, it's high fat, highly processed animal products, particularly high saturated fat intake that leads to what you are talking about.

Lean meats, fish, eggs, dairy, etc. are not correlated with what you're talking about.

And also, I would question the notion that eating protein increases your blood creatine level in a negative way. People who eat very high protein diets may have slightly elevated blood creatine levels, but this is not correlated with any negative health outcomes. It's just that their reference range is slightly higher. Your doctor should know this.

Interesting opinion. Yeah, I did eat some processed meats in the past but I've cut down on it some.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable. Thanks for the input.

Basically, my blood test showed that they detected high amount of cholesterol and creatine, which suggests a high fat and protein diet. This is true because I ate a lot of meat and other animal products. I have another physical in 3 months and now I felt pressure to eat better.

While I suppose it would be sufficient to just cut down on the meat, I had an idea about transitioning to cutting out all animal products from my diet altogether. I told this to my mom but she thinks I'm being too extreme. I think she's probably right, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try. I know I may not be successful, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

It will probably be very difficult for me, because I'm so used to eating animal products, but transitioning to vegetarianism and then veganism will be good for my health, animals, and the environment....

I actually have (although I attribute it to the fact that the company was desperately hiring.) But it was for a job in packaging food and wasn't exactly my forte. I didn't stay long there.

I tried getting jobs more in my field (science and software development) but I haven't had much luck at the job fairs.
