I always want to get into chess. I recently really got back into it, but man, now everyone is going to accuse me of only hopping on the bandwagon because of the Queen's Gambit when I haven't even watched it.

Chess is cool, though, and the more players that get interested, the better it's gotta be for theory.

That is what I do, lol. I just suck. I am starting to see games where I had Mate in 2 at times but I completely missed it, so I guess it's time to start reading up on some Endgame stuff.

Then again, there are also times where I honestly thought the game was close until the very end, just to find out through analysis that I was considered to be losing by a good/significant amount. I think part of the hard thing is it can be hard to get better when you are facing people who are around you or worse than you at my level. In games at my level, I literally blunder a queen but know that there is a decent chance the other guy will blunder right back. I feel if I faced people who weren't like extremely better, but a good few hundred points above me, it would force me to look into better plays. My level just has too many blunders on both sides and only will show me "ah, so this is how this can end up screwing me over eventually."

That's how I feel about Chess. I literally am not good enough, and it is the one game I really want to be good at. Not even like awesome or whatever, but like, hey, I'm not terrible at this.

Gonna pick the Master Sword because I'm basic. I like the design of it actually more than the heavier designs tbh. Not heavier in terms of weight, but in terms of complexity of designs.

Not true. The Queen is worth a lot, but depending on the circumstances, does not necessarily mean you have no chance or even that you are losing.

Alright, so I am a Republican actually.

Did not vote for Trump, and I find his refusal to concede to be disgusting. If you are a Republican, you should be putting all your effort towards the Georgia races, not donating money to a campaign that literally lost. It's terrifying to see how many people will just see the words "there was fraud" and decide to go with it. Like any amount of potential fraud that could occur would not be enough to sway the election either way. Plus, it creates this narrative that only Democrats would be capable of this kind of fraud. Back in 2016, you could make the case that despite winning the popular vote, Hillary only had a plurality, but in 2020 Biden not only outright won the Electoral College, but he also won a majority of the popular vote (which if the majority of voters say they want a particular candidate, I feel that shouldn't be debated).

I don't like the idea that a party truly believes they can run to the courts and actually steal an election they are not even close in.

I can rewatch s2-7 (well S7 up to Michael leaving) very easily. S1 I sometimes catch the mood for. S8 was fine but I never have a desire to watch it. S9 and S7 post Michael I was not a fan of for the most part and I just don't really want to watch. Of course, the series finale is fine to watch even though it has elements of things that made the show worse.

Thanks for the advice.

I didn't realize until now that the fabric I ordered is going to take weeks to ship, so I need to cancel and find an amazon alternative. Shame because I liked the fabric.

It's a Christmas gift idea I had, but I never realized just how complicated this all is before you even get started on making it!

Like, I have put a decent amount of research in fabric, but I still don't have a definite answer for which one. There is plush and mink which many tout as being great, but I don't know if I like the look of mink fabric. Cotton is a classic, but I here it isn't really that good as a fabric.

I know there are those fabrics that are used in those more cheap-looking stuffed animals, but I want this to be a soft, fluffy, and ultimately, nice-looking stuffed animal (the design is something I think she'd appreciate). I have never done anything like this, nor have I ever sewn anything, so I'm really nervous if I can even do it. Can't afford a sewing machine, but sources tell me you can still hand-sew stuffed animals nicely. Additionally, the rough thing is I have to buy 3 different colors of fabric (white, black, and a orange/brown color). The last one is the hard one because I don't know the exact color to get and plus, I have to find the color as well. Also, you don't really have too many small options for buying fabric, have to buy it by the yard mainly, so the costs are going to be run up. This isn't even factoring in the sewing needles and thread, the stuffing, and the eyes that will be necessary.

It makes me wonder if it would be cheaper to just commission what I am trying to do, but that is pretty costly, and I think making things by hand is a nice way to show appreciation, I don't know.

Basically, I created this blog post in an attempt to maybe get advice from one of you guys. It's probably a long-shot since I don't think sewing stuffed animals is anyone's special hobby around here, but then again, you all have many interesting and exciting hobbies (I recall some very creative works by some of y'all). My biggest nightmare is that this is way over my head, and that it ends up being a huge failure.
