So can you even train these things or do they just poop everywhere ?

They are surprisingly clean. Them eating their own poop is evolution being... odd.

Mine fx, prefer to use a specific corner of their cage as a toilet, and hates using me as a toilet.

Well that's handy to know.

I'm going to do a little research on these critters.

You can potty train them. And you can train them to let you pick them up and pet them and hug them and have them sit on your lap.

What's the life span on these units? My oldest is 10 and I know shes been asking for a pet that's not a fish but I've been hesitant as anything smaller than a dog and I'm worried as far as it passing relatively quickly (compared to larger pets when she would presumably 18+)
