Get to Gold 3, right on the cusp of Gold 4, feel like you're really improving, immediately go on like a 1-15 streak.

Not sure I have the mental fortitude for fighting games after all.

I had completely forgotten about it because it's been years, but this post has unlocked the memory of watching three or four of these in school one year and even back then thinking it was awful.

I wonder if 4kids One Piece gets in here. So much crazy poorly thought our censorship. Zoro being changed to Zolo. People being scared of cork guns and rubber hammers. A plot important whale being turned into an iceberg. A dead mom being "put in the dungeon" instead, and then presumably left there after the villains are defeated because the crew stay around for days afterwards and nobody mentions her, including her daughters.

Oh the show seemingly ending with the strawhat crew being killed by falling wreckage.

Feel like it probably has to show up somewhere. Even 4kids themselves knew it was a terrible idea.

Which would make sense. Detroit's been linked most to Whitmore, Ausar, Hendricks, and Walker, and one of them will be there at 9.

Love to see the rumors of the Spurs trading for a second lottery pick gaining steam, too.

Goodwin is a solid backup guard. But that's admittedly not a super sexy thing to put in the tweet either.

I'll stay cautiously optimistic. If nothing else, the casting is miles better than Cowboy Bebop's. I will say I'm not sold on Luffy yet from this trailer, though, which would be kind of a problem.

I'd guess the Magic will be looking at like Williams, Reaves, Trent Jr and maybe FVV (but that requires freeing up some extra space). Need something along the lines of a glue guy or shooter that is going to be fine taking a backseat to Franz / Banchero and Fultz.

Having a hell of a time figuring out the timing for Drive Rush cancels consistently. Some moves I have it down super consistently, get it 95% of the time without an issue. Others it feels completely random.

Overall I've gotten the execution figured out better than I thought I would in the limited amount of time I've gotten to spend with the game so far, though.

Aeterna Noctis is fantastic. One of the most satisfying games I've ever played.

There's one area that can absolutely go to hell but the rest I loved.

Don't think about it as a penalty for using the simplified controls. Think of it as a reward for using the classic controls.

There's barely even a difference to begin with.

You could come up with a "rigged" narrative for, like, at least half the teams that could've won the lottery. If it was Charlotte, it'd be "Of course the long-suffering franchise gets the star to pair with marketable LaMelo while everyone's talking about the team getting sold." If it was Portland, it's "Oh, of course Dame gets his running mate - NBA wants to reward that small market team and player for loyalty." "Houston gets the big star to promote the Harden rumors." "Dallas gets another European superstar to team up with Luka." "Haliburton and Victor is must-see TV now."

Are those all less compelling "stories" than the whole San Antonio legacy narrative? I don't know, your mileage may vary on that. But people can find a way to support any theory for these sorts of things.

What do you think it would take to pry #11 away from the Magic, speaking of which? That's one of the slots it seems like SA can theoretically target.

They've got all their own firsts, plus protected picks from Chicago, Charlotte, Boston, and Toronto and a whoooole lot of seconds. They've also got those unprotected ATL firsts in 2025 and 2027 but I have a feeling they won't want to give those up, though I could see the 2026 pick swap being dangled.

The more research I do, the more I want the Spurs to use some of their ridiculous excess draft capital to trade into the late lottery for an extra pick and grab Cason Wallace.

One of said friends is the luckiest human being alive when it comes to board games, be they digital or physical, and he was holding the lead for the majority of the game thanks to his usual good fortune. He got so overconfident that he risked a completely unnecessary duel with me that I won (Vine With Me was the mini-game IIRC). Turned the game all the way around and I clutched out the W. He's still bitter about it and swears he'll never throw like that again.

I do like the OG fit. Mikal Bridges might also be an interesting one?

Houston might just decide not to rush things at this point, too. Harden might have been a pipe dream contingent on Wemby. And/or maybe they really like their odds of getting a guy they love at #4.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say "no way." If any franchises would be dumb enough to say, for example, "We're set at PG, we don't need another one." I'd think Portland and Charlotte would be pretty far up there. Or maybe Charlotte takes Scoot and Portland either falls in love with Amen's upside or has massive concerns with Miller's character or something.

But I would be shocked if that happens, no doubt.

And they still lost.

I like to think I willed this into existence by building up good karma in watching as much Spurs basketball as I was this past year.
