Love the unabashed criticisms of capitalism and the harsh rebuke of the phrase "thoughts and prayers".My thoughts exactly. Easily the best episode of the season but we're still early! Child character kind of annoyed me in this one a bit but we got there in the end. Episode reminded me a bit of The Satan Pit in its themes of faith/religion though not as strongly. |

| MysteriousStan 05/18/24 2:15:38 PM #5 | So I know for sure that some of your questions will be answered soon. There's kind of second part to the Senior Detective case that gets into it a bit more. I think it might answer most of your questions. If there's anything unresolved after that maybe I can get into it more but I think right now I can't. As for why the other detectives just accept this explanation for now...would probably chalk it up to it being a theory from Ideal. She's essentially the best Detective and is practically never wrong so her theories hold a lot of weight even if others may not agree. PoE desperately wants to be DR but at its core it's a cheap imitation imo and so the writing isn't always as tight as DR's is at times. That's not to say it's a bad game but it's certainly not on DRs level imo. |

For me, 7th Time Loop is at the top of that subgenre! If you want another anime similar it, I'd recommend "Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion". It's an incomplete adaptation, but enjoyable regardless. It has a similar vibe to 7th Time Loop in a lot of ways.Ohh good to know! Pretty much watched it on a whim based on some stuff that was said in the anime topic and found it to be quite enjoyable! Just read up on Raeliana and that sounds right up my ally too so I'm gonna add that to my watch list. Thanks for the rec! |

Mushishi (need to watch season 2 and rewatch season 1) 5. Baccano (another show coasting on good memories. Would love to rewatch but well...) 6. DBZ 7. 7th Time Loop 8. Monogatari (as always, would probably be higher if I watched past the first season) 9. Beastars Haven't seen Kaguya so not ranked. I'm the only one who nominated 7th Time Loop and it almost got cut by the randomizer so I'm shocked to see it make the Top 10. It's not the type of show I've dabbled too much into so I don't know how it compares to other shows like it but I thought it was very good! Beastars is fine, I'm not hyped about it like many are but I wouldn't be mad if it won! |
