I Kickstarted it but I got a Switch physical copy so I get it later I guess. I do get a Steam code too so maybe that'll be sooner.

Honestly it seems like the conflict between the drag and trans communities is basically all RuPaul's fault. He's really shitty to trans people and like it or not he's basically remade drag in his image to the point that it's nearly inseparable. Historically trans folks were a big part of drag and drag was an important space for questioning people to experiment with gender. Then Ru came in and shat on everything.

I'm just glad NES Contra is in. You wouldn't think that would be a surprise, but we got Super C and not Contra on the NES Classic and every iteration of the Virtual Console, and the first 4 games revealed made it look like the same thing was happening here.

I know it's still early and NRS is notorious for drastic rebalancing, but does anyone have a credible tier list yet? Especially one that includes variation info? I don't want to invest a lot of time in learning a character just to find out that they're actually garbage.

yo this always online stuff is bullshit

i mean it is in every game but I'm playing on switch so it's double extra bullshit

whenever the console goes to sleep mode i lose my connection and can't get it back without quitting and relaunching the game

and if that happens in the middle of a klassic tower it quits to the main menu

this is one thing if it's my ps4 which lives in my house with my cable internet

but this is my switch and sometimes it takes the bus

plus the correct brightness settings for handheld and docked mode are very different and the game simply does not care

I think MKX tried too hard to be a Serious Game, and that didn't just go for the story but the whole package. The visuals that were all dull colors washed out even further by glaring sunlight, the HUD that was just flat white everything, the fatalities that felt more like torture porn than traditional MK stuff... Something about it just didn't feel right at all.

the faces are getting too real. Seeing Cassie react to her skin being pulled off is like actually upsetting.

This line was already crossed for me in MKX. MK9 was borderline thanks to the more detailed gore the X-ray models allowed, but the less realistic art style overall helped; it looked more like a comic book than real people. But MKX leaned hard into realistic characters and added more organs and detail and I was just like, these aren't fun anymore.

Also MKX was more humorless than your typical MK, so the more realistic gore felt... meaner? I don't know, it wasn't pleasant.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Switch NES)

Wow this game is just punishing the whole way through. Much like Metroid 1, it's a great game that's held back by having way too stiff of a penalty for dying. But unlike Metroid where you eventually become strong enough that dying isn't a big risk, you're CONSTANTLY at risk of getting killed no matter how much you increase your health.

Mega Man IV (3DS VC)

Okay this one got kinda weird towards the end, between the branching paths in a few of the later levels, things you were supposed to push by shooting that I had no idea what you were supposed to do with them until I looked up YouTube videos, optional collectables required to access the final stage, the pushback from during a fully charged buster shot, etc

I guess by this point in the franchise they were experimenting with what you can do with a Mega Man game and not everything they tried really stuck. One big success was the introduction of an early version of the bolt shop, here called P-chips, which would become a series staple.

Mega Man III (3DS VC)

Easily superior to the two Game Boy Mega Man games that preceded it. The visuals are among the best on the platform, the music is fantastic, and it really reminded me why Mega Man 4, which it pulls a lot of content from, is one of my favorites in the NES series.

Mega Man II (3DS VC)

I remembered liking II better than Dr. Wily's Revenge back in the day, but playing them now Dr. Wily is just blatantly superior. II was much easier though, I just blew right through it, so maybe that was why I liked it better.
