I still don't believe this is happening. We already had the AA trilogy released on Switch and PS4, so why would they re-release it with a game that sold terribly in its original release, with one of those releases being on a console that was just recently obsoleted? That slide could've just meant they originally planned to release DGS with the AA trilogy, but decided against it at a later point, probably because they weren't confident they could make back the cost of localizing two whole games.

The claim made by Tsumugi in V3 is that D1-3 (and an undefined amount more of them following) are works of pure fiction and only much later did they start doing Danganronpa with "real" people. Which is also supposedly why she can cosplay as the 1 and 2 casts.

There is also some small indication at the end that many of her claims may not have been true either, but it's the best we have to go on.

Edit: Oh and V3 was advertised as being a different timeline or something like that. Which is why people will just say that up front to people who haven't played yet.

There were those case files in Shuichi's lab where he notes that they begin with drawings of murders, and at some point they become pictures of real murders. I think the implication is that they were the murders from the previous Danganronpas, so it would mean that the first two games were just fiction in this universe. I think there were 52 books, but I'd have to go back and look it up to be sure.

That's not even the dumbest part. The dumbest part is that it just puts you back in the same room you were in when you fail, so there's no penalty for losing. So it doesn't even have a real reason to exist.
