Kick Ass was great, and Nic Cage's character in it was great, but his acting... not his best.

I voted for Lord of War because it's so underrated.

My brother borrowed the Season 1 DVD a few years back, which came with a big map of the "world", showing a ton of locations that don't even show up until several seasons later.

It also came with a family tree, explaining who each character was in relation to their family/house.

The map and the family tree made it MUCH easier to understand the plot and keep track of who's who early on.

I'd say I don't play favorites with Disney films, but Nightmare Before Christmas stands above the rest.

I dunno if that one should count. Disney didn't even want to put their name on it until way later.

Even as a kid, I was always a bit bugged by how the dialog was different in the same scenes for the different characters. In my head I always imagined that whoever was telling the story was putting their own spin on it.

It's not really your point, when you're saying you'd rather play those things over DA, while I am saying that those are the objectively worst graphics ever used in video games, to the point where even the worst elements of DA look like modern art in comparison, and that saying "I would rather see those graphics than the ones in DA" is quite possibly a criteria for clinical insanity.

Honestly, as a whole? Maplestory. Filled with upbeat and catchy tunes to go with the unique 2D art design and colorful areas, while also being fittingly ominous for the darker areas.

That's actually a pretty good choice. I haven't played that in years, but I do remember the soundtrack being really good and fitting for the various areas.

I find those to be some of the worst graphics ever created by human beings in terms of aging poorly. I'd argue that literally every game made prior or since that point looks better than the deformed mess that was the first attempt at polygonal art.

Meh, its graphics while not impressive are not atrocious. It's not like trying to replay Baldur's Gate 2 or something...

Honestly I'd rather play something totally blocky like FFVII or Legend of Dragoon. Like, it wasn't just graphically unimpressive, but the art direction was also really boring outside of the blood-spatters. Plus the characters all moved in awkward ways while speaking, and their chest armor seemed to bend and flex like cloth.

The games that excited me most from E3:

-Monster Hunter World (looks to be by far the best one yet)
-Spider-Man (costume isn't my least-favorite, but it's not in my top-5 either)
-Skull and Bones (Yoho, fiddle-deedee)
-Metroid 4 and the 2 remake (disappointed we saw no trailer for MP4, and also disappointed that Metroid 2 won't have sprites, but either way it's hard not to get excited with how Nintendo has been treating the series).
-Mario Odyssey (glad to finally have a "real" platformer since the Wii U only got 3D World, which felt like more of a spin-off).
-Beyond Good and Evil 2 (just glad it's not cancelled, but disappointed in the art-style).

Too many people here are taking "generic, bland" to mean "something I don't like". Seinfeld, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, etc. aren't "bland". But something like Friends, or Everybody Loves Raymond, or Full House, you could definitely make that argument.

Monster Hunters... I can't help you there since I couldn't see the appeal in playing it back on Gameboy, and the anime was considerably dumb even back for late 90s me.

Grinding is definitely a major aspect of Monster Hunter, but if you enjoy the game, the grind never feels like "work" to me.

If you think Souls games are too sluggish, though, you're probably not going to like Monster Hunter. People compare the two series a lot due to similar-paced combat (even if most other aspects are different).

No, seriously, it controlled great after you got used to it.

It was functional, but still incredibly uncomfortable. They could definitely make improvements, especially if the sequel is an actual console game.

All I know is that Capcom said "Monster Hunter is coming to the Switch," and that's when I decided I wanted one.

I love Monster Hunter, but unless MH5 is a Switch exclusive, I'm not going to go out of my way for it.

The last good Metroid was Axiom Verge.

I'll probably watch the Sony conference this year. The last couple years, they were the only ones with a good conference (even if they always announce stuff that won't come out for like 3+ years).

Nintendo HAS to show some cool stuff for their new console. I'm expecting at least one or two big announcements, but I'm not going to hold my breath for Metroid. It's my favorite Nintendo franchise, but outside of Smash and that stupid 3DS game, they've been pretending the series doesn't exist.

I didn't care for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 1 or 2 either. If I wanted to play God of War I would play God of War.

The first one wasn't bad. It was derivative as hell and had some frustrating parts, but was above-average as an action game, really.

I agree with the platforming aspect, but I loved basically everything else about Prime 1 and 2. 3 added motion controls to the mix, so fuck that noise.

The motion controls were a major improvement, in that particular case. The single-analog controls of the first two Prime games were always dumb.

A bunch of people I used to play with online now play Destiny, a lot. I imagine most of them will also be getting Destiny 2 when it comes out. If it's still active when I finally get a PS4, I'll probably pick it up.

Just saw Guardians 2. Absolutely loved loved loved that they finally made my favorite fan theory about the Stan Lee cameos cannon.

It does create kind of a plothole with Stan mentioning his cameo in Age of Ultron which canonically takes place after Guardians 2. But that can be explained away by time-warp shenanigans.
