I clicked the "All Systems" link at the top and just got kind of nostalgic for the purity of the console wars in the '80s-'90s. It just felt... right, ya know?

One vs. one. Both Japanese companies. Light vs. Dark (literally, other than Dreamcast everything SEGA made was black).

Sony and Microsoft, as good as they are, will always feel like "rookies" to me.

You're watching something really taboo or filthy and then this is kind of your thought process:

"This is hot, this is hot, this is hot (climaxing) this is hot, this... is... what is this? this is !@#$ed up. Oh god, this is disgusting".

I went on a date with a really cute girl this afternoon. We'd been chatting online for a whole week and things were going great, and our afternoon in the park seemed to be going fine too, but when I asked if she'd ever wanna do anything again she gave me such a weakass excuse that I remind her too much of one of her cousins so "it can't work".

What's the worst excuse you ever got?

I tried resetting the iPod, I tried cold resetting the iPod (holding down Home and Power), I deleted one of my accounts and tried adding it again- none of those helped.

In fact, when I tried re-adding the e-mail address I'd deleted, it failed to even do that. It fails to verify the account and gives me a message that it "Cannot Connect Using SSL" and asks if I want to try setting up the account without SSL... which also doesn't work.

Hey all,

The regular "Mail" app on my iPod Touch has stopped updating automatically while I'm home. It also fails to find any new mail manually. Push notifications are still on and I haven't messed with any of the settings that would effect this.

When I went to check the mail this morning, it displayed that it hadn't updated since 2pm yesterday when I was on my school's campus.

I'll mention now, as it's probably the source of the issue, that we recently made the upgrade from DSL to Fios this week. That obviously changed some of the "behind-the-scenes" aspects of our Wi-Fi network. Still, everything else internet related still works on my iPod, so this stands out as unusual behavior.

Does anyone think they may know what the problem is or how to resolve it?

I'm confused. How can the plot to T3 even happen? The entire point of T2 was that they got rid of every single shred of information that could be useful to make Terminators. Unless I got it all wrong, I don't think any Terminators should even exist in the future TO send back. What gives?

Yeah, a lot of video game robots seem to be missing. Like some of us pointed out already though, Clank from Ratchet and Clank is there (bottom left). There may be a few others.

I just noticed the "humping robot" from Robot Chicken hahaha. He's just above and to the left of the Android logo, doing what he does best.

There's also that weird Tin Man from Return to Oz. At the top, there's the robot from Robot Monster (with the scuba helmet). I only know that because of MST3K. Same goes for Jet Jaguar (from Godzilla) in the upper left.

Who are the 4 little guys in the bottom left? The floating camera looks so familiar.

Let's see if we can identify all of them! There are a bunch that look familiar but I can't quite put my finger on. I'll start off with some of the ones I instantly recognize:

(starting in the bottom left corner)

Clank from Ratchet and Clank
R2-D2 of Star Wars
Bad Robot from the Bad Robot logo
Noo Noo from Teletubies
Wall-E from Wall-E
Tom Servo from MST3K
Conky from Pee-Wee's Playhouse
Gir from Invader Zim
Rosie from The Jetsons
Marvin the Paranoid Android from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Alpha 5 from Power Rangers

...others, off the top of my head, are

Bender
Bill and Ted
Johnny 5
The Terminator
Calculon
Tin Man
Grounder from Sonic the Hedgehog
Atlas from Portal 2
C3PO
The main robot from Robots

Obviously there are hundreds. Who else do you see?

As entertaining as Doug and Hey Arnold can be, they just never appealed to me the same way. I guess I have something against Nicktoons about ordinary people. I prefer the more bizarre, outrageous, or more obviously fictional (talking animals, etc).

I never watched that Adult Party Cartoon, but I hear it's unbelievably bad, and the idea just sucks to begin with. It seems to me that a lot of the fun of Ren & Stimpy comes from the fact that it really pushed the "family-friendly" envelope as far as it could go; by making it an actual adults-only program, I think the creators really missed the point.

John K. himself said he didn't really want to push the limits, but Spike TV ("the first network for men" lol) wanted the show to compete with South Park for pure raunchiness. The thing is, South Park isn't just raunchy for the sake of raunchy. It's actually pretty smart. Anyway, John K. was pressured into it by the network.

According to the always-right Wikipedia, he's since expressed interested in bringing the show back again but this time "just for the kids" once more, as it was original intended. Supposedly, Viacom still owns the rights and are getting in the way.

On the whole, I still think I'd pick classic Nicktoons over those CN shows, though.

It's kinda sad how the original 3 Nicktoons were revived in one way or another and were horrible.

The Rugrats' revival was by far the most successful, but I just don't really think they needed new babies (Dil and that French chick). As decent as the actual new Rugrats episodes probably were, it doesn't make up for All Growed Up.

Disney's Doug was a disaster and Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon was a disgrace.

In general, I think Cartoon Cartoons held up better. Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab and Sheep in the Big City seem even funnier to me nowadays! I think CN's shows tried harder to appeal to all ages, whereas I think many of Nick's shows were kid-only ordeals.

I haven't seen Johnny Bravo in a very long time, but I know Dexter's Lab definitely holds up. Out of curiosity, I watched the first 5 mins of a Cow and Chicken episode "On Demand" last week and couldn't handle it. It's much worse than I remember, and at it's best it was a Ren & Stimpy wannabe. Imitation Ren & Stimpy is just a bad idea.

I just rewatched the entire series last month via streaming Netflix. It would have been ranked lower than Zim, but it was even better than I remembered so now they're tied... even though they're totally different types of humor.

Ya know, I like Bill more now than I ever have when he was with Sookie. I like how disconnected he seems from the rest of this lame season, like he has nothing to do with it hahaha.

I know that one of the privileges of working for HBO is getting to show sex scenes, and I know it's insane that anyone would ever complain about seeing Anna Paquin naked, but they really just got carried away this season. If it's not pushing the plot forward at all, I say forget it. It's just a waste of time.

I'm not going to feel at all sad when Sookie and Eric break up for whatever reason, not gonna feel bad if someone like Tara, the werewolf guy, or Lafayette's gay friend die, not gonna care what happens to Merlott's little brother. The stuff with Hoytt and Jessica is still interesting, I admit.

But yeah... you catch my drift.

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with any season of True Blood, but wow, this season is just horrible. Seasons 1 and 2 were actually really well written, 3 dipped a bit, but 4 is just terrible.

I liked the show better when it was just humans and vampires. Then they added werewolves, then they added werepanthers, then they added fairies and witches. There's just WAY too much stupid crap on this show now, and that's hardly the worst part.

They've just ruined the main character, Sookie, by turning her into some kind of sex-craved maniac. I don't think she's done anything at all this season except screw around with magically-nice-guy Eric. I get it, show, they like eachother now. I don't need to see it in every single episode, though.

The only good storyline this season is with the demon baby.

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions! Like I said, I'm going to finish up the original FMA when I get around to watching the movie later tonight. After that, I probably will just head forward with Brotherhood.

I currently work part time, and I have one more year of school left starting in September, so those are obviously going to be time consuming priorities. That said, even with those obligations, I do my best to have as much "free time" as possible.

As far as viewing options go, yeah, I have Netflix (both streaming and discs) and cable. We're getting FiOS internet/TV soon so once that gets installed, downloading non-Netflix shows will also be a more feasible option. Right now, we're on DSL so downloading things can be a pain.

Again, thanks for the suggestions.

Hey all,

I just finished watching all of Fullmetal Alchemist for the very first time thanks to streaming Netflix. Other than the fantastic movie "Spirited Away", this was really the first anime I've ever really decided to watch- and I LOVED it. The epilogue movie should arrive in the mail today, and then I'll be done with the original series.

After I finish that, I'm probably going to start watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the series that stays truer to the original manga.

My question is, when I'm all done with FMA (prob in a month or two), what other animes are worth my time? I'm a little worried that FMA was too good of a series and that most others will pale in comparison now or seem corny.
